Position Summary This position supports the recruiting and admissions initiatives of Graduate Business Programs (GBP) in the School of Business at Portland State University (PSU).
Primary initiatives will focus on recruiting for the MBA program, JDMBA, and the Masters in Applied Data Science for Business, Master of Science in Finance, Master of Taxation, Master of Science in Real Estate, and the Master of Global Supply Chain Management, and the Healthcare MBA.
This position will promote PSU’s GBP programs to prospective students while managing their progress through the recruiting pipeline until they submit an application.
Key responsibilities include:
Student Recruitment
Serve as the primary point of contact for prospective students from inquiry to submitted application for a subset of the portfolio. Represent programs digitally, locally, and nationally at recruitment events. Position requires regional and national travel. Promote programs to prospective students through active outreach and advising. Serve as the primary designer, coordinator and assessor of information sessions and webinars. This includes building out event strategy & vision and assessing effectiveness. Plan and set up all program informational events and webinars. Generate and follow up on new applicant leads in order to meet admissions goals while maintaining a commitment to inclusion, student success and the quality and longevity of the program. In designing and executing annual recruiting plans and services, utilize best practices and an awareness of institutional barriers, systemic inequities, and unconscious bias to continually update student policies, processes, and programs.
Strategic Communications & Recruiting Technologies
Manage prospective student interface technologies (including working in the primary recruiting CRM system) and communications to generate new leads and support targets. Manage prospective student interface technologies and communications to generate and support new leads, meet KPIS and ensure effective execution of strategic communication initiatives. Work with all recruiting technologies to build out quarterly metrics and data reports around recruiting. Aid in the ongoing management of the primary recruiting CRM system. Assist with the strategic vision, creation, execution and assessment of recruiting communications, including email drip campaigns and external facing communications (website, collateral, etc.) Serve as an administrator for the ongoing management of the primary recruiting CRM system.
Marketing Support
Partner with Recruiting Manager and Marketing and Communications team to support the creation of strong marketing, recruitment, and communications strategies. Coordinate and track display materials for fairs, conferences, info sessions and recruitment events. Actively maintain all prospective student website content related to primary support programs. Implement strategic initiatives aimed at potential recruiting partners (corporate, non-profit and industry organizations).
The Recruiting Manager will report to the Assistant Dean of Student Success. Minimum Qualifications Bachelors degree and at least two years of relevant work experience. Strong organizational skills; attention to detail and ability to handle multiple demands and deadlines simultaneously. Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills, as well as discretion and diplomacy. Excellent customer service skills. High professionalism and discretion in dealing with issues pertaining to confidentiality. Willingness to work in a collaborative team environment in a productive and professional manner. Strong computer knowledge and technological competence. Experience with, and understanding of the needs of individuals from ethnically and culturally diverse backgrounds. Knowledge of writing styles and formats for digital communications. Time management skills including organization, scheduling and coordination. Adaptable and can work with ambiguity and change. Willingness to accept, learn, and manage new projects and/or duties. Preferred Qualifications Master’s with 1+ year of related experience Past experience with CRM systems. Total Compensation Range & Benefits Statement Salary is dependent on several factors, and new employees will typically start around the Q1 level to allow for later growth within the salary band. PSU has a structured process for determining starting compensation, taking into account years of related experience, applicable skills, knowledge and abilities, market parity, and internal equity.
The starting annual salary for this position will between $58,000 -$60,500 but may be negotiated above this rate dependent upon the factors above, departmental budget and approval from HR.
