Job Title: Reentry Therapist
Job Summary:
CASES is seeking a Reentry Therapist that will deliver compassionate, evidence-based mental health and substance use treatment to individuals impacted by the criminal legal system. This role involves conducting assessments, developing personalized treatment plans, and providing individual, group, and family therapy. The therapist will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive, trauma-informed care that supports recovery and community reintegration. Using culturally competent and evidence-based approaches, they will address mental health challenges, substance use, and criminogenic risk factors. Shift Hours: This position is full-time Monday – Friday from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
Salary: The salary range for the role is $70,000 per year.
Location Address: 424 East 147th Street, Bronx, NY 10455. Our office is easily accessible by public transportation.
Workplace Flexibility: Hybrid - For roles that have at least 1 full day remote per week.
What You Will Be Doing:
Strong passion to work with those impacted by the criminal legal system & provide compassionate clinical treatment in accordance with the scope of practice and regulations governing Mental health outpatient treatment and recovery services.Conduct screening and assessment in accordance with the use of validated screening tools to screen and assess depression, trauma, substance use, and risk and needs associated with criminogenic risk.Develop person/family-centered, recovery-oriented treatment plans and review in collaboration with client, collaterals, and consented stakeholders such as significant others, criminal justice personnel, primary care health provider, care coordinator, and schools.Coordinate cases with CASES psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, nursing staff, peers, care managers, and administrative staff.Use evidenced sequential screening for risk of violence including suicide and utilize risk management protocols to appropriately manage and intervene.Ensure timely and accurate documentation using the Electronic Medical Record (EMR); document all services in accordance with CASES policies, NYS Office of Mental Health regulations and all relevant federal laws.Conduct individual, family, group therapy as clinically indicated.Utilize best and evidence-based approaches to treatment consistent with CASES’ organizational culture; health/mental health integration, rehabilitation and recovery, and understanding incarceration on treatment engagement.Provide culturally competent services that are individualized to client needs and reflect the integration of race, ethnicity, culture, primary language, immigration status, developmental status, criminal justice status, sexuality, age, and gender.Participate in Quality Improvement Measures and utilize dashboard data reports from the EHR to track client progress with symptom reduction, increased functioning, and use objective data to determine treatment needs and to support discharge planning.Provide crisis intervention services as deemed appropriate and participate in the 24-hour emergency phone coverage on a rotating basis.
What We Are Looking For:
New York State LCSW/LMSW/LMHC1-3 years of experience in a clinic setting or at least two years of work experience at a licensed mental health or substance use program.Demonstrated expertise in recovery-oriented, trauma-informed, evidence-based practice.Demonstrated experience with diverse adults receiving mental health treatment, including delivery of treatment to individuals with serious mental illness, functional impairments and psychosocial needs.Must feel comfortable with developing a group curriculum and facilitating or co-facilitating group psychotherapy.Therapist will be expected within six months of employment to receive the Integrated Mental Health/Addictions Treatment Training Certificate (IMHATT).Preferred but not required:
