Full Time Mon - Friday Experienced Referral Coordinator

Under general direction, coordinates referral requests and communication of appointments using general clerical and customer service skills including, but not limited to, organizing requests from multiple locations, obtaining preauthorization's, and communicating status of appointments. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

Coordinates referral requests as ordered by the physician for diagnostic testing and specialty office appointments from multiple locationsObtains and accurately enters patients’ demographic and insurance informationVerifies patients’ insuranceObtains preauthorization and notification information from payer sources and notes accordinglyDocuments information for all procedures and appointments in the patient’s chart and HPPCommunicates procedure and appointment information to patient and requesting locationMaintains patient confidentiality and corporate compliance guidelines and integrityCarries out additional duties as assignedEnsures positive customer relations interactionsManages difficult or emotional customer situationsResponds promptly to customer needsSolicits customer feedback to improve serviceResponds to requests for service and assistancePerforms data entry of all office and outside clinic charges dailyPosts outside charges and hospital diagnostic testsMaintains patient privacy and adheres to HIPAA guidelines concerning PHI; maintains corporate compliance and integrity

Minimum Education, Experience, Training, and Licensures/Certifications/Registrations Required:High school diploma or equivalent required or other formal education preferred Clerical and computer experience preferredMust have medical terminology background, along with referral experience
