The Women's Specialty clinic is now hiring for a part-time Referral Coordinator to work with new patients being referred to the clinic.
Position Summary & Highlights:This position will support new patients being referred to the Women's Specialty clinic.
The Women's Specialty clinic provides patient care for gynecologic oncology and breast reconstruction surgery services.
What Will You Do:You will serve as a specialist in the coordination of all aspects of specialty referrals, incoming and outgoing, eligibility verification, and maintenance for outpatient clinic patients.
This includes obtaining patient information, maintaining patient files, verifying information with appropriate agencies, and reporting statistics and data as required.
Obtain referrals while assisting providers, staff, and patients with referral related questions.
Verify coverage and correct documentation within the patient medical record to complete the referral process thoroughly within the EMR system (Epic).
You will also complete internal SAMG referrals according to the patient’s benefits and will ensure process is completed accurately through each work queue to adhere to all governing federal regulations and SAMG policies.
Act as a liaison between practice, patients, referral sources, and health insurance companies to resolve complaints and problems.
Monitor, resolve, and update the status of problem authorizations.
Collect data of outside records to assist in successful consult with the providers.
Work Schedule:32 hours per week, 4 - 8 hour shifts, Mondays - Fridays, around the hours of 8:00am - 5:00pm, based on clinic needs.
There may be some flexibility with this schedule.

Minimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent, Associate degree preferred
1 year of healthcare related referral experience required, 3 years preferred
