**Description:**
Performs testing of process/product material streams with a high degree of precision and conformance to standardized methodologies.
· Understands the economic benefit of how precise and accurate analytical data ensures the integrity of processed material in meeting customer specifications.
· Works effectively and cooperatively with Operations and Oil Movements to optimize the production and transfer of material.
· Complies with all corporate safety policies, departmental policies and procedures.
· Applies basic math skills (adding and subtracting, fractions, decimals, percentages).
· Comprehends standardized testing methodologies, such as ASTM, UOP, IP and EPA.
· Executes job instructions and step/ action operating procedures as defined by Laboratory Supervision in a safety conscious manner.
· Applies critical thinking skills to interpret deviations from statistical trends and form logical conclusions to formulate a resolution.
· Communicates with fellow employees and industry contacts both orally and in writing, in a professional, legible and accurate manner.
· Demonstrates the ability to operate electronic-based applications, such as data acquisition and information management systems.
· Supports the Statistical Quality Control initiative to improve analytical precision and accuracy of standard operating procedures.
This position is a 12- hour rotating work schedule with Call-Out and vacation relief duties.
This position is hourly nonexempt status, which means you are eligible for overtime pay.
**Qualifications:**
· High school diploma or GED is required.
· Refinery, Chemical Process Operator, mechanical, or industrial experience preferred.
· Bachelor's (or higher) degree in Biology, Chemistry or Physical Science is preferred.
· Three years of experience working in a similar capacity at a chemical processing, refining or chemical inspection/testing facility, preferred.
Position level and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
