Refrigeration 4th Class Operator/Engineer (Day Shift)
Responsibilities Position Summary: Primary role of the Reliability / Refrigeration Engineer is to identify, manage, improve equipment run time and preventative maintenance program. At the same time, the role requires hands-on work through design, install and commissioning of projects. Schedule: Day Shift -Tuesday to Saturday: 6:00am to 2:00pm Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to: Carry out daily checks on refrigeration equipment and make any necessary repairs or adjustments. Monitor and adjust equipment to lower utility costs. Tour (Gemba Walk) the facility on a regular basis to ensure equipment and building is safe. Continuously develop preventative maintenance programs along with programs to respond to unexpected or emergency situations. Track building and equipment repair. Monitor the performance of equipment, which includes monitoring preventative maintenance and safety programs. Build and Analyze Equipment Reliability to find pattern / re-occurring issues. Use six sigma and kaizen mythology to lead and facilitate continuous improvement Make recommendations on programs and equipment to improve efficiency and meet ongoing customer requirements. Implementation of Projects from inception to completion in order to satisfy Project Requirements. Lead and manage the design and install of the Project to provide robust solutions that meet customer specification, budget and timeline. Manage technical or engineering projects Operate in accordance with WHMIS and other regulations as required. Ensure the operations follow all Safe Food for Canadians Regulations (SFCR), Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) and Good Warehouse Practices (GWP)/Good Drivers Practices (GDP) for transport rules and regulations. Other projects or duties as assigned. Qualifications Required Skills and Experience: 4th Class Operating Engineer / Class B license Proven knowledge in refrigerated warehouse environment 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role Excellent organizational / communication skills, presentation skills, report writing skills.
