Shift: This role is 2nd Shift, 4:00 PM-4:00 AM

Hourly Rate: $27.27 an hour

Job Summary: The Refrigeration Mechanic is responsible for a variety of responsibilities including troubleshooting and repairing heating, ventilation, air, and refrigeration equipment involving ammonia or other refrigerants following safety standards, performing daily checks on refrigeration systems/equipment, cleaning and changing filters while observing all safety regulations and ensuring GMP and quality standards are met.

Starting pay up to $27.27 per hour and Attendance Bonus! ($0.50 for first shift and $0.60 for second shift) You will be on 2nd shift, and you will be onsite at the facility located in Council Bluffs, Iowa. You will report to the Maintenance Manager.

Essential Job Functions:

You Will:

Troubleshoot and repair heating, ventilation, air, and refrigeration equipment involving ammonia or other refrigerants following safety standardsPerform daily checks on all refrigeration systems/equipmentLead the refrigeration team to accomplish tasks or resolve issuesReplace and repair boilers, ammonia system, coolers, compressors, and HVAC systemsPerform scheduled maintenance on evaporators and condensersChange and clean filters promptlyMonitor, clean, and repair plant systems (e.g., condensers, traps, and filtrations)Requisition parts and suppliesInspect and clean work areas using proper tools according to procedureComplete required paperwork promptly, read, write and comprehend EnglishRepair/replace; modify machinery, wiring, pipingMaintain and complete all required documentation following OSHA and EPA regulatory requirements (e.g., logs, records, and checklist)

You Have:

Knowledge of Plant safety, GMP'sKnowledge of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)Be LOTO/PIT/confined space certifiedBe respirator trainedBe HAZMAT trained and a member of the HAZMAT team

Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or GED required. Experience Required: Minimum 2 years of refrigeration maintenance or related experience required. Commercial HVAC experience required. Industrial experience preferred.
