In this position you will perform maintenance, repair and/or replacement to a variety of refrigeration and HVAC components and equipment to ensure clean, safe, and environmentally sound operations of the Capitol Complex building and grounds. Other duties include: + Preventive maintenance – Proactively service equipment to minimize breakdowns. + Safety and compliance – Follow regulations, use proper safety gear, and attend training. + Scheduled maintenance – Maintain HVAC systems for efficiency and energy conservation. + Recordkeeping – Track repairs and refrigerant usage to prevent redundancy. **Minimum Qualifications** + Certification which validates successful completion of an accredited program from a reputable HVAC & Refrigeration technical school or training institution. + Universal certification in the handling and transition of refrigerants and recovery equipment. + Ability to service all makes of refrigeration and HVAC components and equipment, including but not limited to coolers and freezers, icemakers, water chillers, gas/oil-fired/electric appliances, small water or steam boilers and heating/cooling/ventilation valves and controls (both electronic and pneumatic). + Knowledge of applicable codes regarding repair and installation of A/C and refrigeration equipment. + Must possess a current valid class “D” driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. + Must be registered with the Department of Labor and Industry or register within the first six months of employment as an unlicensed electrician. + Ability to obtain certification form the Office of State Procurement to make purchases up to $5,000. **Preferred Qualifications** + Power limited electrical licensure. + Four years or more years of refrigeration equipment service technician experience in a commercial kitchen or food service establishment. **Physical Requirements** Successful candidate must pass pre-employment physical (CRT TEST REQUIREMENT MINIMUM IS MEDIUM, EX: ABLE TO LIFT 36-50 LBS FREQUENTLY 1-100 REPS AN HOUR) **Additional Requirements** Must be able to successfully pass employment reference checks, and a criminal background check through American Databank.
