**Job Title: ACR Marine / Refrigeration Mechanic**
**Job Description**
Provides repair, installation, and warranty support to galley refrigeration equipment aboard US Navy Ships and Submarines. This role requires hands-on experience with refrigeration units and the ability to perform various repair and maintenance tasks efficiently.
**Responsibilities**
+ Perform assessments of small refrigerator/freezer units, ice machines, and walk-in refrigeration units.
+ Conduct repairs including brazing, component replacement, leak testing, and repairs per EPA code.
+ Perform general repairs such as equipment installation, grinding, cutting of metals, pipe fitting, fire watch, and labor.
+ Understand and execute shipboard and shipyard safety practices and procedures.
+ Troubleshoot and fill out condition reports, job discrepancy forms, and required forms in accordance with NAVSEA Standard Items.
+ Research and correctly identify OEM parts, and assess equipment and material discrepancies directly with manufacturers.
+ Maintain continuity among departments by documenting and communicating actions, discrepancies, and continuing needs.
**Essential Skills**
+ Extensive working knowledge of Naval Shipboard acronyms, aircraft carrier, and surface ship engineering mechanical systems.
+ Experience working in a shipyard setting.
+ Ability to learn and work independently.
+ Basic electrical knowledge for refrigeration components.
+ Universal Refrigerant Certification or Type II & III Certification is a plus.
+ Good driving record.
+ Experience with viewing designs, schematics, and drawings.
+ Strong verbal communication, listening, and professionalism.
+ Customer focus, organization, and ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
+ Detail-oriented and efficient at multitasking.
+ Ability to handle pressure and exhibit flexibility.
+ Brazing (soldering) experience and basic electrical skills.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Possession of personal tools, gauges, and refrigeration tools.
+ HII and DBIDS.
+ Ability to compile data and other information into clear, succinct products for leadership.
+ Self-motivated team player.
+ Coachable and willing to learn new tasks and concepts quickly.

**Work Environment**
Majority of the work will be performed on the field in various shipyards, primarily on ships with tight quarters. The work schedule is primarily on 1st shift from 7 am to 3:30 pm, with some overtime expected depending on workflow.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hampton, Virginia.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00
