Overview As Refrigeration Systems Product Specialist, you will be the liaison between the Hussmann Field Quality Team and manufacturing while collaborating with cross functional teams, to achieve desired quality and customer requirements within the project schedule. Support the development of organizational and departmental processes to improve product release and delivery execution speed and effectiveness, including analyzing manufacturing processes and supporting the implementation NTD, NPD, and COD requests as required. Responsibilities Perform proactive product reviews during the design, testing, and manufacturing processes. Lead in proactively root causing Hussmann product issues ensuring customer support objectives are met within budget, on time, and with required quality and functionality. Key Job functions include: Effectively manage individual utilization – including maintaining itinerary plans and proactively communicating to manager and leads when schedule permits special project work Collaborate with cross functional teams to meet project objectives, drive root cause, and mitigate customer risk Participate in meeting cadences as required with cross functional teams to ensure robust support plans for field escapes, issues, large customer start up projects, and new products and controls start ups Champion projects to completion Support process improvement activities Oversee complex order and new product builds Drive cross-functional accountability related to Field Quality to mitigate customer risk Document and present findings to leadership via the Product Audit Process Document findings utilizing the Field Report creation process Utilize the Field Escalation process when applicable Ability to Perform standard FQS duties Conducting plant and customer site audits to identify opportunities for continuous improvement of product and processes. Provide customer support related to the delivery and startup of sustaining and new refrigeration systems and merchandisers Interact directly with customers, contractors, technicians, and engineering providing advanced level technical expertise in order to instill confidence in Hussmann equipment, installation, technical support, and service. and will also have the experience to provide startup support on refrigeration systems and merchandisers as needed. This position when supporting field quality projects is customer facing; therefore, professionalism is of the utmost importance as the FQS is viewed as Hussmann’s “technical expert”. Effectively manage special field projects within budgetary guidelines Capable of influencing warranty expenditures by identifying and resolving issues prior to equipment start-up Training and Development Facilitate/Coordinate Training as required Provide Peer to Peer Training Create Training Material as required Qualifications Minimum High School Diploma, Technical Degree and/or Bachelor’s Degree 5+ years of Refrigeration/HVAC or related industry experience Must have advanced industry product knowledge; hands on understanding of complex refrigeration systems; and advanced knowledge of electrical controls and equipment Field project management experience Strong Microsoft Office skills, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, and Word Experience facilitating meetings with cross functional teams preferred Experience managing complex customer start ups Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization Manufacturing new product launch/build experience a plus Mobility within work facilities including manufacturing and installation sites Knowledgeable and/or trainable in Hussmann systems (Aftermarket, Tavant, CRM Dynamics, QMS, and Team Center) Up to 20% independent travel to manufacturing and customer sites Key Competencies and Success Factors: Build efficient, realistic plans and detailed actions to achieve objectives; Sets priorities effectively and organizes information; holds self and others accountable to project milestones and results Takes accountability for getting work done; is resourceful in identifying creative solutions to difficult problems Demonstrates effective consulting, negotiating, and persuasive skills to diverse audiences, promoting constructive confrontation and issue resolution; Presents information in a clear and accurate manner Strong business acumen: Ability to drive strategy, influence practices, processes and policies that result in competitive advantage; Continuously works to improve value through process improvement Understands customer and market demands; proactively ensure customer requirements translate into program requirements, responds promptly to customer needs and advocates resolution of issues important to stakeholders Strong ability to collaborate with cross functional teams with ability to influence and create action If you share our passion for inspiring progress, then you belong with Hussmann.
