As a Refrigeration Technician, you will play a key role in supporting both internal and external customers, contributing to Danfoss’ business growth. You will assist with laboratory projects while ensuring assignment schedules are consistently met. Your primary focus will be to complete work assignments efficiently with minimal supervision, maintain the test facility in optimal condition—including cleanliness and maintenance—and uphold a facility availability rate of at least 98%. You will collaborate closely with laboratory colleagues, project stakeholders, and suppliers for spare parts to ensure seamless operations.
Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Constructs, modifies, and maintains mechanical and electrical test/prototype units.
• Conducts testing procedures in accordance with company standards, ensuring accurate data recording.
• Performs preventative maintenance and repairs on all test equipment to maintain optimal functionality.
• Provides input on laboratory methods and equipment enhancements.
• Communicates effectively with the laboratory team to ensure seamless execution of duties.
• Adheres to safety protocols, actively engaging in safe work practices and complying with policies and procedures.
• Maintains a clean and organized workspace, ensuring proper handling of tools, equipment, and stock to prevent loss.
Key Tasks:
• Safely installs wiring (power, controls, and instrumentation) for test/prototype units, ensuring compliance with manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
• Effectively manages refrigerant charge for test/prototype units, adhering to manufacturer guidelines and industry regulations.
• Maintains and stocks the laboratory area to support efficient operations.
• Fabricates special tooling and prototypes for project tasks, following provided drawings and instructions.
• Handles waste disposal in accordance with established procedures.
• Assists with ADC initiatives by supporting assigned projects.
• Performs additional tasks as reasonably assigned or requested.
Required (basic) qualifications:
• Associate degree (minimum 2 years) in HVAC or a related field.
• EPA-Approved Section 608 Universal Certification required.
• Forklift training/license preferred (company-provided training available).
• Manlift training/license preferred (company-provided training available).
• Rigging training/license preferred (company-provided training available).
• Strong hands-on ability with technical systems and equipment.
Preferred qualifications:
• Experience in the HVAC industry, with a strong understanding of systems and operations.
• Five years of relevant experience in mechanical test laboratories or field service.
• Proficiency in PC usage, including electronic mail and basic digital communication tools.
