Economic Empowerment Program:
IRC's
resettlement model focuses on the self-sufficiency of our refugee clients. Our
Employment Services program guides clients on their path to economic
self-sufficiency through job application support, job search assistance, resume
building, job readiness training, and career coaching.
Interns Responsibilities:
The
intern's primary point of contact will be the Employment Program Coordinator
and other caseworkers.
Interns
can expect to support refugee clients’ self-sufficiency and employment goals
through resume building, providing job readiness training classes, leading
public transportation orientations, and assisting with job applications on
behalf of clients. Interns will also be responsible for accurately and promptly
submitting case notes and file documentation detailing services they’ve
provided.
Interns
will have the opportunity to support clients directly in overcoming barriers to
economic self-sufficiency. Interns will gain greater insight into the
resettlement process for refugees in the Dallas area. IRC places a strong focus
on hiring from our intern pool- if you are eager to break into social work,
international relations or political science, or are looking for nonprofit
experience, this internship is for you.
