Refurb Specialist

Job Description:

Genie Industries is a major component of the Terex AWP Segment, which is a division of Terex Corporation. Terex Corporation (Fortune 500) is the third largest global manufacturer of construction equipment and products.

The Refurb Specialist provides skilled repair, troubleshooting, and maintenance to equipment. 

Responsibilities:

Performs Final Assembly of product and goods from a stock configuration to final configuration meeting customer specifications (Reconfigure).

Performs Pre-Delivery inspection of all equipment received from overseas manufacturing facilities.

Performs, and completes maintenance, repair, installation, and assembly reconfigures within allowable time frames.

Diagnoses problems affecting acceptable operation of several different units within the Genie family.  Develops sequenced course of action for repair.

Disassembles, adjusts, repairs, or replaces components, then reassembles equipment, and machinery.  Participates or conducts tests to assure proper operating characteristics and ability.

Performs regular inspections of equipment and machinery according to operating manuals and standard maintenance procedures to assure operating efficiency and identify potential problem areas.  Documents inspection activities and establishes schedules for review of potential problems.

Performs all inspection, diagnosis, maintenance, and repair activities in compliance with standard maintenance procedures, operating manuals, manufacturers specifications, drawings and diagrams, and federal, state, and local codes and regulations.

Participates in work teams to identify, define, and establish process stability and improvement.

Maintains a clean, orderly, and safe work environment.  Assures that all tools are accounted and cared for, and can be used safely.

Regularly communicates problems and improvement opportunities to immediate supervisor.

Performs other duties as assigned that support the overall objective of the position.

Required Qualifications:

Requires the ability to carry out the duties and responsibilities of the position.  Requires the ability to perform a full range of maintenance activity on process equipment, machinery, tools, and facilities systems. 

Requires the ability to diagnose maintenance problems and establish corrective courses of action.

Must be able to understand and follow oral and written instructions, maintain complete records and interpret plans, diagrams, operating manuals, and specifications. 

Ability to establish a sequenced maintenance plan. 

Ability to read precision instruments and perform mathematical calculations. 

Requires the ability to observe and follow all safety rules and regulations. 

Requires the demonstrated ability to operate multiple different types Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT), Aerial Work Platforms (AWP) and Telehandler products as well as ongoing operation of PIT’s, AWP’s and Telehandlers.

Requires the ability to stand for extended periods of time, walk up to 400 yards, manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10 - 50 pounds on a regular basis, heavy weight objects on an infrequent basis. 

Must be able to climb (e.g. ladders), stoop, kneel, and crouch on a regular basis.  Requires sufficient hand-eye coordination, hand and finger dexterity including ability to grasp small devices as well as common tools, and near visual acuity to operate equipment and read technical and safety information.

 Requires basic skills in using common personal computer-based business programs.

Preferred Qualifications:

Background in Fabrication a plus.

Ability to Weld a plus.
