Job DescriptionReporting to the Regional Controller, the purpose of this position is to oversee activities performed by Finance Departments in our Region (Europe) to ensure compliance with US GAAP, global policies, and procedures any other local tax legislation.
Monthly review of the Regions P&L submission packages, and approval for month end close.Developing solid financial strategies involving budgeting, costs and forecasting financial future possibilities.Support the Regional Controller in the management of the annual financial budget process across the Region including fact, figures and people.Execute and review procedures to ensure global accounting policies which have been submitted by our Central HQ are implemented in a timely and accurately manner throughout the Region.Actively participate on the monthly review of third-party outlays and Intercompany entries, to validate compliance with our Global Policies and Procedures.Provide support to the countries on the evaluation of their control environment by performing an Annual Internal Control Evaluations. Discuss and follow up with corresponding Finance Country Controllers the implementation of actions plans to mitigate deficiencies identified in such evaluations.Support Country Controllers and other Accounting staff to guarantee a proper application/adoption of Company´s Policies, Standards and Accounting Guidance.Collaborate with the Country Controllers and/or Regional Accounting team on the preparation and delivery of any finance related Global request / information requirement.Participate in the review of Accounting Processes, in order to look for improvement opportunities with positive impact on business efficiency.Provide financial and accounting expertise and support for the regional business operations management teams.If required, support Country Controllers on the preparation of information/documentation for Internal Control Evaluations and Internal/External Audits.Maintain a good relationship and communicate frequently with Country Controllers & Senior Managers throughout the Region.QualificationsQualifications and Experience:
Proven and strong experience as a Regional Controller, Regional Accounting Manager, Finance Manager or ControllerProven Accounting and Finance experience (preferably in the Global Logistics Industry)Accounting Qualification (ACCA, ACA, CIMA)Desire local tax and regulatory knowledgeGood understanding of business as well as up to date knowledge of Accounting Rules & Regulations (preferably including US GAAP)Proficient in MS Office, including PowerBI, Excel Formulas and Pivot TablesStrong organizational and analytical skills with an attention to the detailsEffective interpersonal skills, including proven abilities to listen, comprehend, effectively communicate clearly and concisely to financial persons as well as non-financial persons at all levels from Operations to Senior Management to obtain positive resultsProven leadership attitude and skillsAbility to drive through changeExperience in compliance and internal controls.Fluent in EnglishThis position may require occasional travel and is based in London.
