Regional Accounting Manager Requirements:
Lead the preparation of monthly community financial statements, review profit/loss, cashflows, equity roll forwards, depreciation, inventory, cash balance, and balance sheet
reconciliations, and submit monthly financials to ownership. Train and coach Accountants assigned to the region on monthly, quarterly, and annual
processes to support accounting department goals. Review and prepare account reconciliations of general ledger accounts for appropriate,
timely resolution of reconciling items. Lead annual and monthly community financial close process to ensure timely, accurate
financial statements and to ensure that established goals are met. Lead annual and monthly community close cycle through preparation and draft of bank
ACH transactions. Review community check runs prepared by Accounts Payable based on available cash
balance and vendor terms. Regularly review accounts receivable and work with the community Business Office Directors
and Executive Directors to collect open balances, post appropriate charges, payments,
adjustments, and refunds. Train and coach the community Executive Directors and the Business Office Directors on financial
processes, where appropriate, to ensure understanding of processes impacting the timing
and accuracy of financial statements. Establish and lead a monthly financial review process for the assigned region in collaboration
with the RVP of Operations. Review and validate accuracy of community invoices and check requests. Lead preparation of annual community 1099 and 1096 forms. Prepare, review and post journal entries and maintain supporting documentation for all
transactions. Prepare details and summary ad hoc analysis for management as requested. Work directly with internal stakeholders on developing and executing strategic plans to
Ensure assigned communities meet and/or exceed financial targets. Represent the Accounting department on special projects for the support office or
communities as needed. Perform other duties as assigned.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
3-5 years of progressive accounting experience BS in Accounting, or a combination of education and experience. Working knowledge of accounting software programs. Hands-on, able to work well independently as well as in a team environment, and balancemultiple high-level priorities. Must be detail-oriented to ensure accuracy. Excellent communications skills across all levels of the organization Yardi Voyager experiences a plus Willingness to travel as needed to support the region; approximately 10%.
