Radio-Canada Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean is looking for a candidate to fill the role of Regional Assignment Editor. Reporting to the Associate Managing Editor, you will assign and co-ordinate the day-to-day work of reporters and camera operators covering regional stories to ensure optimal deployment across our platforms in accordance with corporate standards and policies.
We are looking for a candidate with the following:
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
Five (5) years’ journalism experience or equivalent
Skills:
Extensive general knowledge
In-depth knowledge of regional current events and issues
Solid command of French
Excellent knowledge of the other official language is an asset
In-depth knowledge of logistics in a TV, radio and digital newsroom
Very good knowledge of storytelling techniques specific to each platform
Knowledge of production techniques
Knowledge of CBC/Radio-Canada’s Journalistic Standards and Practices
Proven leadership skills along with an excellent ability to engage people and manage change
Ability to plan, organize and co-ordinate the day-to-day work of reporters so as to meet tight deadlines; ability to work well under pressure
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to provide constructive feedback
Knowledge of CBC/Radio-Canada production applications (Dalet, Media Browser and iNews) is an asset
Valid driver’s licence

French test
Interview
