About the Role
The Regional Business Analyst (RBA) is responsible for supporting sustained short-term and long-term revenue growth in the region by creating sound analysis to support customer renewals and customer new sales in the US West and Canada academic and government region. The individual selected for this role will be an integral part of the success of the region by working closely with the regional director and account managers to meet and exceed our goals.
As the Regional Business Analyst (RBA), you will report to the Regional Sales Director, Research Sales, and work with the sales team to provide overall business support for renewal negotiations and high-level analysis for the region’s large new business initiatives. The individual is responsible for providing the regional sales team with analysis and strategic advice to inform negotiation preparation and provide recommendations for growing individual accounts. The RBA focuses on identifying risk in the account-level renewal negotiations and makes sound recommendations that help to close renewals on time and on budget. In addition, the RBA will work closely with the regional director to provide analytical recommendations to the Regional Account Director (RAD) for maximizing regional growth as well as provide ad hoc analysis for RAMs to support major new business efforts for accounts.
The RBA will be responsible for designing and creating analysis and corresponding presentation materials for negotiation planning and negotiation customer engagement. As part of the preparation, the RBA will be collaborating with the Customer Success Manager to confer on the value metrics for the customer. The RBA will be overall responsible for data analysis to support Open Access (OA) renewal discussions, working closely with the Global Research Solutions team who will provide guidance and advice. Overall, the RBA will be responsible for aggregating the necessary materials to conduct effective analysis and create a compelling story for the customer in support of the renewal objectives.
The RBA will support and take a leading role developing best practices in their region in terms of renewal preparation process. The RBA will also proactively work with the Regional Account Director (RAD) to support new ideas and make recommendations for region-wide new business initiatives. The RBA will confer with the regional Business Strategy and Operations Director on initiatives to drive overall growth in their region through renewals and new business. For example, the RBA should be proactive in analyzing attrition risk, making recommendations for attrition risk mitigation and developing strategy recommendations for account win-back initiatives.
Responsibilities
Providing data and analysis to support renewal planning and execution, with a focus on minimizing risk and maximizing opportunities for growth. This support is primarily for open access Research Sales renewal negotiations but extends to all major renewals and those with high attrition risk.Preparing bespoke value proposition and current status analysis of key accounts for research account managers in co-ordination with the Customer Success Manager (CSM) 12 to 18 months before renewal date. Working with Regional Account Managers (RAMs) to organize internal planning sessions to prepare for renewals.Preparing executive-ready presentations for internal renewal proposal recommendations and corresponding external presentations for customer meetings. Attend and participate in selected renewal meetings and be ready to participate to provide insights on the analysis to customers. The RBA will coordinate with the Customer Success Manager to ensure alignment, with the RBA ultimately responsible for the presentations.Requirements
Degree level, preferably business, accounting, economics, statistics or data science.Have exceptional data analysis skills, and advanced Excel skills.Have analytical and strategic mindset - able to draw insights from data and make recommendations.Display deep understanding of the sales process understanding of negotiation strategies and tactics.Have a minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a similar role.Are thorough with excellent attention to detail and able to produce executive-level presentations.Able to work well across a matrixed organization.Have knowledge of Salesforce and Tableau reporting.Possess project management skills (critical).Work in a way that works for you

Salary Range
Pay range listed for New Jersey required by law and based on years of experience. Range may be inclusive of additional incentive.
