Job Purpose

The Regional Coordinator of Communications and Strategic Alliances ensures a public engagement of World Vision (WV) through robust visibility, positioning and connection with WV’s external and internal audiences. He/She coordinates and execute WV Latin America and Caribbean Region’s (LACR) Communications Strategy aimed a strong media presence, digital engagement and meaningful alliances to build WV’s brand and reputation. The position holder enhances the capacity of Field Offices (FOs) to perform first class emergency communications, map out and nurture strategic alliances, and coordinates with FOs with Global Center (GC) and Support Offices (SOs), to deliver a consistent and high-quality stream of evidence-driven contents.

To advance the Regional Strategy of External Engagement and Advocacy by extending and deepening our network of relations and internal engagement and alignment, the position holder must build solid collaboration lines with teams of Advocacy, Operations, Faith and Development, Marketing and People & Culture (P&C) to deliver strategic outputs in the following areas:

1.           Donor & External Engagement communications via technical branding & storytelling

2.           Leadership communications & Internal Communications for alignment

3.           Emergency Communications

4.           Media (public) engagement

5.           Social Media and Digital Communication

6.           Strategic events planning

SCOPE / DISTRUBUTION OF RESPONSABILITES

20% - EXTERNAL COMMS/TECHNICAL BRANDING

Develops a regional communications strategy aimed at increasing WV’s brand recognition, by emphasizing our Christian identity, impact and influence.Ensures that all LCRO FOs comply with current brand guidelines.Develops and follows up Communications business plan and budget.

20% - EMERGENCY COMMUNICATIONS

Develop, strengthen and update capacities of FO Comms to deliver high-quality contents to support fundraising and awareness-raising activities amid large-scale humanitarian emergencies, while ensuring Comms capacities for deployment to address humanitarian emergencies

20% - MEDIA ENGAGEMENT

Delivers a media engagement plan aligned with the regional priorities, leveraging our territorial presence, diversity of voices from children and technical expertise.

20% - STRATEGIC ALLIANCES

Supports the Regional Director of External Engagement (EE) in accomplishing Strategic Alliances with Cooperation Agencies, Corporations and institutional donors, by defining mapping out, identifying and classifying by relevance potential external stakeholders to enhance impact, influence and income, and producing contents to support external engagement.

15% - INTERNAL COMMUNICATIONS

Designs, develops and manages a regional internal communications system to ensure strategic alignment and engagement of Regional Office (RO) and National Office (NO) staff, in line with the global strategy “Our Promise 2030”.Ensure solid positioning of WV LCR within the Partnership stakeholders, and oversees a solid content-plan for our prioritized segments.Develop a strategy of contents excellence to feed the multiple platforms of WVI and WV LACR.

5% - Develops and follows up Communications business plan and budget.

REQUIRED PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, TRAINING, LICENSE, REGISTRATION, AND /OR CERTIFICATION:

Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, International Relations or specialized in Corporate Communications with +7 years of experienceExperience in coordinating and producing written-video content for donor/sponsor engagement, public advocacy and media relations purposes.Experience creating and implementing internal communications strategies.Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communications skills.Sensitivity to cultural, religious and gender issues.Team leadership, budget planning.Development of campaign or mobilization events.News media engagement and contact building.Excellent understanding of social media and knowledge of virtual events platforms.

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Language Requirements:

Excellent speaking, writing and editing skills in English and Spanish. French and/or Portuguese will be an added advantage.

Travel and/or Work Environment Requirement:

Work will be principally homeworking/remote.Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 5-10% of the time.
