Regional Director, Education Practice

About the Role

At HUB International, we empower our clients through tailored risk solutions and industry expertise. As a Regional Director, Education Practice, you will play a key role in HUB’s national Education Practice, collaborating across regions while also supporting the broader HUB South region. You will lead strategic initiatives to expand HUB’s presence in the education sector, working closely with clients, producers, and carriers to develop comprehensive risk management solutions tailored to educational institutions.

This role is ideal for an entrepreneurial leader with a passion for business development, market expansion, and client relationship management.

What You’ll Do:

Business Development & Growth Strategy

Drive the expansion of HUB’s Education Practice at both a national and regional level, identifying and securing new business opportunities.Develop and execute strategies to increase HUB’s market share in the education sector, strengthening relationships with existing education-focused accounts.Partner with producers and Account Executives (AEs) across HUB South and nationally to develop targeted sales approaches tailored to educational institutions.Leverage URMIA and other national education associations to build relationships and drive sales opportunities. Stay ahead of industry trends, policy changes, and emerging risks to provide clients with innovative insurance solutions.
 

Client & Market Engagement

Act as a trusted advisor to educational institutions, helping them navigate risk management and insurance challenges.Develop relationships with education-focused insurance carriers to provide competitive market options for clients.Support producers and AEs across HUB South and nationally in structuring and presenting compelling insurance proposals tailored to educational institutions.Collaborate with underwriting teams and risk management specialists to design specialized insurance programs for schools, universities, and education nonprofits.

Leadership & Collaboration

Work closely with HUB’s national Education Practice leaders to align regional strategies with national education initiatives.Mentor and support producers and AEs, providing guidance on education-specific risk management and sales strategies.Assist in recruiting, onboarding, and training team members focused on the education sector.Promote collaboration across HUB’s business lines, ensuring education clients benefit from comprehensive insurance solutions spanning Property & Casualty, Employee Benefits, and Retirement & Private Wealth.

Sales & Revenue Management

Build and lead a dedicated education-focused sales team across HUB South and nationally, ensuring consistent lead generation and client engagement.Align sales efforts with HUB’s national education strategy, driving collaboration across regions.Ensure self-sourced business revenue is directed to HUB South, with proportional cost-sharing for business developed in other HUB regions.Establish clear sales targets and revenue goals, tracking performance and adjusting strategies as needed.

Market Positioning & Thought Leadership

Represent HUB at industry conferences, summits, and networking events, promoting HUB’s expertise in the education sector.Collaborate with HUB’s marketing team to create thought leadership materials, including white papers, blogs, and industry insights.Engage in public speaking opportunities to elevate HUB’s presence in the education sector.Advocate for HUB as a leader in education risk solutions, ensuring brand visibility and strong market positioning.

Qualifications & Experience to be Successful:

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (preferred).10+ years of experience in insurance, risk management, or business development, with a strong focus on the education sector.Proven track record in developing new business, expanding market reach, and driving revenue growth.Experience working with education-focused insurance carriers and markets.Strong leadership, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.Ability to collaborate effectively with regional and national teams.

Department Sales

Required Experience: 7-10 years of relevant experience
