About the Strategics Team

The Strategic Accounts group leads Proofpoint’s sales and account management efforts into the largest and most complex commercial enterprises in the world across the entire Proofpoint portfolio.

We are seeking an exceptional Strategic Accounts Senior Director for the US Great Plains region to lead the execution of our rapidly expanding team and portfolio.  In this role you will be leading and coaching Strategic Accounts Managers to identify, develop, and retain best in industry talent to deliver against our company’s goals.  You will play a major hands-on role with the field sales organization in this customer-facing and highly visible position, including direct participation in closing new and existing business with key accounts.  Establishing and maintaining key select customer relationships and developing the implementation of strategies for expanding the company’s customer base will be key responsibilities for this critical position.

Requirements

What:

Develop a comprehensive strategy and set of tactics to maximize Proofpoint sales into a defined set of Strategic Named accounts.Lead & develop strategies for prospecting and cultivation of all new sales opportunities.Lead the team to forecasting sales opportunities accurately and overachieve monthly and annual sales quotas.Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction across your customer region.

How:

7+ years of experience successfully leading high performing field sales teams spread over a large geography to successful resultsProven past successes leading teams to sell Security and/or Enterprise SaaS solutionsStrong knowledge of new and current technologies and trends specifically in the security industryStrong security industry contacts in the prospective customer and influencer communitiesOutstanding consultative selling skills and ability to articulate the company’s value proposition clearly and effectivelyStrong business acumen with the ability to create a business plan, build a strong business pipeline, accurately forecast and close businessExperience driving and participating in customer outreach, building demand generation plans, and working with cross-functional teams in the Fortune100 account baseProficiency in MEDDIC, SalesForce, and traditional tools and processes for sales successExceptional verbal and written communication skills with ability to conduct sales presentations and interact effectively with internal and external customers at all levels
