Job DescriptionPosition Summary
Participates in the long-range community planning and development process for new-build assisted living communities. Acts as assisted living subject matter expert locally and for national collaborations. Works in collaboration with Executive Directors, Directors, and clinical staff, develops long range and short-range monitoring criteria, action plans, performance outcomes, and continuous quality indicator programs to optimize the quality of assisted living healthcare services and minimize potential risks within the assisted living communities. Follows established clinical policies, procedures and coordinates clinical approaches with the CLC clinical team. Subject matter expert on the science, treatment and approaches associated with supporting those with dementia and those caring for individuals with dementia. Multi-site nurse management experience in assisted living and memory care. Demonstrates proficiency in training and mentoring.
Essential Duties
Provides community clinical team members with the necessary tools, policies, and systems for continued success.Provides education and oversight to ensure clinical processes are carried out utilizing person-directed care and service philosophies and principles.Responsible for ensuring appropriate staffing models, policies and procedures are in place for new communities or clients.Provides Assisted Living consulting services to CLS prospects and clients and to other CLC communities as needed.Remains current on Assisted Living legislation and regulations that may impact community operations.Remains current on Assisted Living trends, new care delivery models, technology, etc.Responsible for standardizing and updating Assisted Living policies and procedures.Performs Assisted Living mock surveys and audits in preparation for health department surveys and monitors during and following surveys.Responsible for participating in selection of and on-boarding new Health and Wellness Directors.Provides training and information to those associated with providing dementia care to others; develops tools and programming for a specialized dementia program.In the absence of a Cappella Health and Wellness Director, may fulfill the requirements of that position in an interim capacity.Attends and participates in pertinent organizational and regulatory meetings.Monitors and provides leadership, resources, and education for nursing staff in Assisted Living.Responsible for encouraging, participating, and integrating successful aging and person-directed service initiatives.Other duties as assigned.QualificationsBasic Qualifications & Experience
5 years RN experience, BSN preferredExperience with Eden Alternative or other philosophy of person-directed principles and practices preferred.Able to speak and train effectively with a diverse audience. Knowledgeable in the techniques of delivering messages to adult learners.3 years of experience as Health and Wellness Assisted Living Director, Director of Nursing, or Regional Clinical support required.Multi-community oversight preferred but not required.Knowledge of emerging trends in dementia support preferred.Significant travel to communities (3-4 days per week)Must be able to read, write and speak the English language.Active Drivers’ License in good standing, in state of employment.Working Conditions / Physical Requirements
