This department is responsible for the management and quality of religious and spiritual care of the patients, families, and their visitors, as well as hospital staff members. This position partners with the Chief Experience Officer at Prime Healthcare to create opportunities to influence the mission and integration of ethical values into patient care delivery. This Director collaborates closely with various levels of management within the senior leadership of the facilities to successfully manage all chaplaincy and administrative staff personnel of the assigned healthcare organization. Responsible for staffing chaplains at the assigned hospitals within Prime Healthcare recruiting, monitoring, orientation, staffing, assess competency, performance evaluation, and controlling the comprehensive, integrated resources for spiritual care for the hospitals or clinics. Provides oversight for the planning and implementation of educational opportunities for chaplains and supervision of any students or volunteers who may work and learn in the department. Prepares and reports appropriate data to Prime Healthcare leadership to monitor performance and progress of key initiatives and plans. Develops, implements, and evaluates pastoral education programs including clinical pastoral education, supervised ministry, advanced clinical pastoral education, and community clergy educational programs. Provides leadership specific to the Hospital Emergency Incident Command System relative to the role of psychosocial support leader and mobilization of spiritual care services. Performs related responsibilities as required. Qualifications EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING + Minimum of four (4) years in ministry with demonstrated competence in pastoral care and two (2) years of supervisory experience. + Previous pastoral care experience within healthcare. + Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills. + Master’s degree required. Master’s degree in Theology, Spirituality, Divinity, Philosophy, Servant Leadership, Human Behavior, Pastoral Studies, Social Work, or a related field preferred. + Board Certification from the Association of Professional Chaplains (APC), National Association of Catholic Chaplains (NACC), Canadian Association for Spiritual Care (CASC), or National Association of Jewish Chaplains (NAJC) preferred.
