Regional Field Production Ops Advisor 

 

This is an opportunity to become a member of the Area Field Production Mission team that is directly involved in the execution of the field production crop plans. We are looking for 2 people – one for the Pre-Foundation and one for the Foundation level of Field Production. 

 

The position effectively:

supports optimizing field production processes, ensuring seamless execution of missions, and enabling overall mission team efficiency through operations discipline; and provides daily tasks that will vary with objectives to enhance operational excellence and build high trust relationships with growers and field service providers.

 

We have 2 permanent positions available, based out of Cranbrook, BC, requiring local travel to various sites plus some overnight travel from time to time.

 

What you will do:

 

Mission Success:

Collaborate with Field Production Missions to plan and coordinate all operational field activitiesEnsure the timely and efficient execution of production plans, aligning with mission objectivesProvide support for all crops within the field production regionBuild strong relationships with all Growers and Field Service providers to gain understanding of the needs to execute crop plans and all field activitiesMonitor all field activities including but not limited to planting, pesticide applications & harvest. GPS mapping of all production fields, conduct field inspections & supervise rouging activitiesImplement best practices to improve production of reliable quality seed while meeting yield targets

Resourcing:

Optimize resource allocation for field production, including personnel, equipment, and materialsWork closely with the team to identify resource needs and facilitate procurement

Operational Efficiency:

Streamline field production processes to enhance overall efficiency through operational disciplineImplement continuous improvement initiatives to address operational challengesInteract with Production Research to collaborate around field optimization production strategiesEnsure all production meets export needs and tolling agreements with attention to certification/phytosanitary inspections and isolation requirements

Quality Assurance:

Champion quality control measures in field production, ensuring adherence to quality standardsCollaborate with relevant teams to address and resolve any quality-related issues

Data Analysis and Reporting:

Analyze operational data to track performance and identify areas for improvementCollaborate with team to analyze reports on key operational metrics across the region to ensure data timeliness and integrityUtilize software application tools for continuous improvement through data driven decision making 

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Work closely with Field Production Agronomists and Field Operational Specialists and enablement mission teams to align production strategies with agronomic goalsCollaborated with Safety and Regulated/Steward Compliance teams to ensure operational compliance with safety and regulatory standards

Integrated Financial Operations:

Support end-to-end financial processes related to field production, including grower accounting, accounts payable, and invoice processingCollaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely financial transactionsEnable quality control measures and compliance within financial operations

 

Who you are:

Either a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Business, Operations Management; or a related field and a minimum of 3 years of applicable experience; or High School Diploma or equivalent with 10 years of applicable experience  Valid Driver's License for the province you’re based in Ability to work during days, weekends and overtime as business needs requireAbility to lift a minimum of 60 lbs. (a bag of seed)​Proven experience in agricultural operations, production planning, or related rolesStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsDemonstrated excellent organizational and project management abilitiesEffective English communication and collaboration skillsAdaptable and able to thrive in a dynamic and varied operational environmentDetail-oriented with a focus on quality and efficiencyTeam player with a collaborative mindsetCommitment to operational excellence and continuous improvement

This posting complies with the British Columbia Pay Transparency Act.  The salary range for this role is $86,000 - $129,000.
