Job Summary:

The Health and Safety East Region Director will play a pivotal role in shaping and driving the strategic direction of Health, Safety, and Environmental initiatives within the region. As a key member of the Health and Safety Senior Leadership Team (SLT), this individual will exhibit a strong sense of ownership and accountability for all regional Health, Safety and Environmental programs. They will plan, budget, oversee, and lead execution of regional H/S programs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and compliance with legal and regulatory standards. The role is responsible for leading the safety efforts and resort safety teams at 24 resorts in the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic and Mid-West.

Outlet: Corporate The budgeted range starts at $120,000 - $150,000 + annual bonus + equity. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience Shift & Schedule Availability: Full Time, Year Round Other Specifics: Regionally Based – Vermont or New Hampshire

 

Job Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive Health, Safety for the region. Contribute to the overall strategy of the Health & Safety function by anticipating business challenges and crafting innovative solutions. Drive Ownership and Accountability: Ensure all team members and stakeholders understand and are accountable for EH&S expectations, initiatives, and prevention measures, fostering a culture of ownership and continuous improvement. Program Management: Oversee the planning, budgeting, execution and accountability of Health and Safety programs. Ensure successful implementation and sustainability of key initiatives by working closely with Health and Safety leadership, Operations, Legal, and HR. Stakeholder Engagement: Lead and influence across all locations within the region. Engage with local communities and internal stakeholders to foster a culture of safety and compliance. Team Leadership: Lead, coach and empower teams within the region, providing guidance and resources needed for successful project completion. Champion a collaborative and accountable work environment. Continuous Improvement and Compliance: Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of Environmental, Health and Safety programs. Identify opportunities for improvement and implement changes to enhance safety performance and operational efficiency. Expertise Development: Lead the development of H&S expertise and culture within the regional health and safety team. Incident Prevention: Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive incident prevention strategy to reduce guest and employee exposure, driving operational ownership. Education: Educate and lead local safety teams on programs and initiatives to further incident reduction and prevention. Subject Matter Expertise: Act as the key point of contact and subject matter expert for Environmental, Health and Safety for regional Executives, providing guidance and support.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in safety, environmental, or industrial engineering preferred 8+ years experience successfully planning and executing Professional certification in safety, health or environmental e.g. PE Enviro, CSP, ASP Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and ability to focus on the big picture Experience successfully leading and implementing change Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment with strong ability for operating with intent to solve Experience accomplishing objectives through others

 

The expected pay range is $120,000 - $150,000 + annual bonus + equity. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
