Job Description​

Saint Luke’s in Kansas City is actively seeking a dedicated hospitalist to join our team at our critical access hospitals in Garnett and Iola, Kansas. These facilities, with 12 and 15 beds respectively, play a vital role in providing care to the communities of Allen and Anderson County.

About the position

Quality, compassionate care is provided by the physician with the support of APP’s and an excellent team of nurses

Telemedicine services are provided by hospitalists from Saint Luke’s Health System in Kansas City 

Option to work a 7-on-7-off schedule or other flexible schedule

12-hour shifts covering adult patients  

An on-call eHospitalist provides call coverage/backup for adult admissions after hours; no night call is required

Fully integrated Epic EMR  

Full array of specialist support with a built-in transfer program directly to Saint Luke’s Hospital, a 600-bed tertiary care hospital located 90 miles away in Kansas City, MO 

The ideal candidate is a BC/BE Internal Medicine or Family Medicine physician with excellent inpatient skills

About Allen County Regional Hospital

Allen County Regional Hospital in Iola, KS delivers high-quality health care to Allen County, Kansas, and its surrounding communities. The county-owned hospital was established in 1952 and opened the doors to a new facility in 2014. The 15-bed critical access hospital is Joint Commission Accredited and is designated as a Kansas Level IV Trauma Center. Services include a 24-hour emergency department, inpatient care with a hospitalist program, advanced imaging, inpatient and outpatient surgery, inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation, skilled nursing and an in-house laboratory. The hospital’s outreach specialty clinic keeps patients close-to-home by offering access to specialists in a variety of areas including endocrinology, gastroenterology, podiatry, rheumatology, urology, and more.  The hospital operates a Rural Health Clinic in Iola, Kansas with an additional practice location in nearby Humboldt.

About Anderson County Hospital

Founded in 1951, Anderson County Hospital is a 12-bed critical access hospital that serves patients in Garnett, Kansas, and the surrounding communities. With a modern facility built in 2015, patients benefit from the latest advances in health care while staying close to home. Anderson County Hospital consistently ranks among the highest in the nation for customer satisfaction. With nearly 210 employees, Anderson County Hospital is one of the larger employers in the area. The hospital has an emergency department that is staffed 24 hours with a provider onsite.  It is designated at a Level IV Trauma Center.  Hospital services also include acute inpatient and skilled nursing care with a hospitalist program, outpatient and inpatient surgeries, rehabilitation services, on-site laboratory and advanced imaging including nuclear medicine and 3D mammography and has a senior life solutions program that caters to seniors' mental health and wellbeing. Outreach specialty clinics offers patients access to specialists in 18 areas including cardiology, rheumatology, podiatry, pulmonology, neurology, and more.
