Work Arrangement
This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the Memphis facility on a full-time basis.
The Role
General Motors is looking for Human Resources (HR) and Labor Relations (LR) professionals who are excited to help lead in the HR space. As a Regional Site HR/LR Lead, you will be directly responsible for delivery of HR and LR services at our Memphis, TN Customer Care & Aftersales (CCA) Parts Distribution Center. In addition, you will function as a People Leader to the Site HR/LR Leads located at our Cincinnati, OH, Charlotte, NC, and Jackson, MS Parts Distribution Centers.
Within your region, you will provide leadership and direction that supports our General Motors’ vision, mission, values, cultural behaviors and business objectives. You will work strategically with your direct reports and assigned functional business leaders to support our key HR and LR objectives aimed at improving culture, improving leadership effectiveness, improving engagement, developing talent, and administering/negotiating contractual provisions that yield productivity and cost effectiveness for your respective site. You will also have responsibility for some site Safety related activities at your designated site.

Responsibilities:
Lead selection, hiring, development, performance management and compensation planning for direct reports in your regionProvide guidance on day-to-day issues to direct reports in your regionChampion projects that support key HR/LR objectives across your regionProvide onsite HR/LR service delivery at designated home locationManage hourly, contract and salaried employment administrationPromote a positive working relationship with the union through consistent application of local and national agreementsNegotiate and implement local and national agreementsPartner with the Plant Manager in driving GM culture, promoting positive employee experiences and improving employee engagementProvide HR leadership for the site (i.e. talent planning, performance management, compensation planning, recruiting and selection, etc.)Ensure compliance to policy and support investigations of employee concernsFacilitate training on HR policies, HR/LR procedures and contractual agreements including the UAW Local and National agreementsChampion assigned Workplace Safety System Elements and administration of local safety related itemsSupport People Involvement and implementation of our Global Manufacturing System (GMS)Additional Job DescriptionMinimum Required Skills and Experience:
5 years of experience providing HR and LR support to an organizationExperience working in a union environment, negotiating, and resolving conflictsBachelor’s degree in HR, LR, business or equivalent work experienceAbility to maintain confidentiality regarding HR/LR mattersOrganized, able to work independently, meet deadlines, and drive the business forward in alignment with HR/LR objectivesHighly proficient analytical and project management skillsStrong Interpersonal SkillsExcellent written and verbal communications skillsProficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and HR applications (e.g. Workday, etc.)Preferred Skills and Experience:
Experience in Warehouse, Manufacturing, Operation or DistributionThis job may be eligible for domestic relocation benefits, however, we are not able to accommodate international relocation.
