A Day in the Life:
Bunge has an opening for an experienced Controls Engineer in their Instrument, Controls and Electrical (ICE) team. This position will focus primarily on Controls engineering and related areas. This role is based in and will focus on US sites, working closely with Canadian counterparts. Position is a mix of project engineering, close Controls and Automation support to sites and support to key business initiatives.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Oversight of local ICE resources with focus on reducing ICE-related downtime, improving performance and safety. Reviewing existing control systems logic/components and delivering a consistent/standardized approach to continuous improvements. Responding to downtime events, troubleshooting system/component malfunctions, identifying root-causes, and completing corrective actions that prevent recurrence. Ongoing support to Bunge's Electrical Safety Policy, timely responses to ICE-related safety requests and site support in creating safe work plans – often driven by unplanned events during off-hours. Assist with preparation and oversight of ICE project design/feasibility studies at greenfield or existing sites using a stage-gate approach. Ensure all controls and reliability needs are incorporated in designs. Review ICE standards/specifications/data sheets and construction bid packages. Assure system and product quality by defining acceptance requirements. Work with Canadian counterparts to maintain Controls standards/specifications/data sheets for Bunge Improve reporting/tracking of ICE-related downtime (Planned and Unplanned). Work with sites and Bunge's Reliability Team to improve visibility of TOP10 troublesome controls assets across sites. Improve reliability and reduce downtime of ICE assets through optimization and improvement of preventive (PM) and predictive (PdM) maintenance strategies. Work with Site and Bunge's Reliability staffs to develop and manage a 3-year strategy including implementation of various Bunge4.0 technologies
Skills/Experience Requirements:
Bachelor Degree in Engineering with proven experience in controls, industrial networking and automation in sectors like Power Generation, Industrial Automation Supply, Oilseeds Processing, Agriculture, Biofuels, Pulp and Paper, Food and Beverage, Packaging, or Chemicals. Solid understanding of various industry codes and standards, including NFPA, NEC and ISA. Design, installation and troubleshooting experience of Allen Bradley controls hardware including ControlLogix, PLC5, Powerflex 40 and Powerflex 755 and communication hardware required, to include Stratix Switches, Controllogix Ethernet, DeviceNet and DH+RIO. Experience in Rockwell Automation software including Logix5000, Studio5000, FactoryTalk View Site Edition, RSLinx, RSNetw Factory Talk Asset Centre and Connected Components Workbench. A solid understanding of networking concepts such as IPv4 address spaces, subnetting, routing and VLANs, as well as the ability to do basic solving is required. Solid understanding of industrial communication concepts to include, Ethernet IP, DeviceNet, Modbus TCP, Modbus RTU, RS232 and RS485. Solid understanding of hazardous area classifications and associated controls methodologies, to include Class I Div I and Class II Div I. Solid understanding of process control instrumentation, to include Level, Pressure, & Flow readings. Familiarity with MCE testing. Experience reviewing P&IDs, logic diagrams, single-line diagrams, electrical controls drawings, and operator interface functional outputs. Experience developing standards, specifications and data sheets. Experience with Server virtualization, Remote Desktop Services and managed switches is desired. Leading or participating in Root Cause Analysis and similar methodologies and proven risk management skills. Willing to relocate to Cairo, and in future travel 25% to 50%
