The position involves developing and executing regional payroll strategies that align with global objectives set by the Global Payroll Center of Excellence. The role emphasizes driving continuous improvement initiatives aimed at optimizing payroll processes, reducing costs, and enhancing efficiency, while ensuring a harmonized colleague experience across the region. This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both virtually and from our Krakow office. What the day will look like Key Responsibilities will include: Leadership & Strategy: Develop and implement regional payroll strategies aligned with global objectives as directed by the Global Payroll COE. Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the regional payroll team during transformation to ensure business continuity and inspire and motivate country payroll leads. Collaborate with People Organization, Finance, Corporate IT and other key partners to ensure seamless integration of payroll and related processes. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize payroll processes, reduce costs, and improve efficiency. Drive colleague experience harmonization within the region Payroll Operations: Oversee payroll processing for multiple countries in the European region, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness. Handle vendor relationships, ensuring that external payroll providers deliver accurate and cost-effective services. Ensure that all payroll processes are aligned with European labor laws, tax regulations, and social security requirements. Handle complex payroll issues, including expatriate payroll, stock compensation, and executive compensation. Compliance & Risk Management: Stay updated on changes to payroll regulations in various European countries, ensuring compliance across all jurisdictions. Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, collective labor agreements, and company policies. Lead internal and external payroll audits, ensuring that controls are in place to mitigate risks. System & Process Improvements: Lead the implementation of new payroll systems and upgrades, ensuring regional alignment with global technology initiatives. Optimize payroll reporting and analytics to provide key insights to management and ensure transparency. Partner with IT and external vendors to automate and streamline payroll, workforce admin and benefits admin operations. Stakeholder Management: Act as the main point of contact for senior management and other stakeholders regarding payroll, WFA and Benefits Admin-related matters. Liaise with local authorities, auditors, and tax agencies to ensure proper filings and responses to any inquiries. Collaborate with HR and Legal teams on compensation strategies, benefit programs, and employment contract management. Team Development: Lead, train, and develop a diverse regional payroll team, seeking to drive shared service centralization where able. Foster a collaborative team environment that encourages knowledge sharing and professional development. Conduct regular performance reviews and set clear objectives for team members. Skills and experience that will lead to success Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field (Master’s preferred). 8-10+ years of experience in payroll management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing regional or international payrolls. Comprehensive knowledge of European payroll regulations, tax laws, and social security systems. Strong experience with payroll software systems, HRIS, and ERP platforms (specifically Workday, Service Now and regional Payroll providers). Excellent leadership, communication, and team-building skills. Fluency in English; knowledge of other European languages is highly advantageous. Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on data accuracy and process optimization.
