Job Description:The Regional Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing facilities maintenance across multiple Acute Care locations including both Critical Access Hospitals and Hospitals. The role ensures that all facilities are maintained to the highest standards, promoting a safe and efficient environment for patients, staff, and visitors. The manager could also oversee nutrition services and support Environmental Services (EVS) oversight, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and organizational standards. The Regional Maintenance Manager supports from a system perspective and ensures all Essentia Health standards, education and training is supported at the facilities they oversee.

Facilities Maintenance: Preventive Maintenance: ensuring teams adhere to preventive maintenance programs to ensure the ongoing operation of critical healthcare systems and infrastructureEquipment and System Repairs: Managing repairs and improvements to mechanical systems, such as HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems, to maintain a safe and comfortable environmentCompliance: Ensuring compliance with building safety, sanitation, health codes, and life safety codes, including NFPA 101 for healthcare facilitiesTeam Leadership: Supervising and training maintenance staff, promoting a culture of safety and efficiency, and managing workflow to meet deadlinesBudget Management: Preparing and managing budgets for maintenance operations, evaluating cost-effectiveness of repairs versus replacements, and identifying opportunities to optimize resourcesVendor Management: Collaborating with external vendors, sourcing and negotiating contracts, and monitoring vendor performance to ensure quality and timely supportTechnology Integration: Implementing maintenance management systems (CMMS) for streamlined work order management and utilizing IoT devices for real-time equipment monitoringCapital Improvement Projects: Assisting in managing facility capital improvement projects, building renovations, and mechanical system upgradesEducation and Training: Educating Facilities teams maintenance practices and ensuring compliance with all relevant codes and regulationsResident Needs: Collaborating with long term care center staff to address resident needs related to maintenance and the environment of careOversees maintenance policies and procedures at multiple locationsCoordinate and supervise maintenance staff across multiple locationsEnsure timely completion of maintenance tasks and projectsManage maintenance budgets and resources effectivelyConduct regular inspections and audits of facilitiesAddress and resolve maintenance-related issues promptlyNutrition Services Oversight: Oversee the operations of nutrition services, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulationsCollaborate with nutrition service managers to develop and implement nutrition programsMonitor food quality and safety standardsEnsure proper training and development of nutrition staffSupport EVS Oversight: Provide support and guidance to EVS managers and staffEnsure compliance with cleaning and sanitation standards

Educational Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in in Business, management, facilities management, Engineering, Healthcare Administration, or technical discipline. Candidate may possess an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Equivalent experience requires 5 or more years of experience in Facilities Management

Required Qualifications:

5 years applicable experience. Demonstrated leadership skills

Preferred Qualifications:

Master Electrical license Professional Engineering license

Certified Healthcare Facilities Manager (CHFM) Certification when eligible may be able to obtain within 18-months of hire
