Regional Manager – Water Resources

Role Summary:

The Water Resources Regional Manager is responsible for driving sales growth in the Municipal Water and Groundwater markets by integrating Flowserve solutions into vital water applications and infrastructure projects.  

This role involves direct account management with groundwater customers and cooperation with our channel partners to engage municipal water customers.  It requires strategic collaboration with municipalities, consultants, drillers, installers, and channel partners to meet sales objectives and grow market share.

Responsibilities:

Build and nurture long-term relationships with sales representatives, municipalities, consultants, contractors, drillers and installers to drive market penetration and sales growth for Flowserve in both the Municipal Water and Groundwater markets.

Partner closely with sales representatives to position Flowserve’s products and services strategically in municipal projects, while directly managing customer relationships within the Groundwater market.

Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies and account plans.

Assist in creating sales proposals and customer facing presentations to support sales activities that will drive customer engagement and close opportunities, ensuring we meet or exceed sales goals.

Manage Sales Representative relationship and performance to ensure they effectively represent Flowserve in their assigned territory and meet or exceed sales goals.

Work directly with Municipalities, Consultants, design firms, and groundwater-focused organizations to develop specifications for Flowserve products.  Drive collaboration with key stakeholders to integrate our solutions into municipal water infrastructure and groundwater systems. 

Identify and capitalize on growth opportunities with both existing and new customers, leveraging a strategic mindset to expand Flowserve’s market presence.

Facilitate process between customer and Flowserve from specification development through order acquisition and actively participate with quotation strategy, market intelligence, order negotiation, and issue resolution.

Provide customers, consultants and sales representatives with in-depth knowledge of Flowserve product and service portfolio through one-to-one interactions and structured training sessions, ensuring our solutions meet technical and project specific needs.

Balance time between municipal water and groundwater customers to maximize market penetration and sales growth in the water resources market.

Leverage CRM tools to effectively manage sales pipelines, track opportunities, and optimize sales strategies.

Ensure timely communication and collaboration across internal teams to meet sales targets and customer requirements.

Deliver accurate forecasts based on the opportunity pipeline and market trends to ensure alignment with sales targets and strategic goals.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field, or 5–7 years of equivalent industry experience.

At least 5 years of experience with pumps, mechanical seals, or related equipment in a sales, technical application or project management role.

Experience working with municipalities and consultants to develop and review technical specifications.

Demonstrated performance in territory management with an understanding of channel partners.

Proficiency in CRM tools to manage sales opportunities and Microsoft Office tools.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and market trends.

Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts and understand customers’ needs to drive long-term business growth.

Ability to build effective formal and informal relationship networks across functional organizations to meet shared objectives.

Demonstrated ability to communicate complex concepts to diverse external and internal audiences.

Strong analytical and data driven problem-solving skills, logical thought process, with a focus on continuous improvement.

Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills.

Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time within assigned territory (West Region, US and Canada) to meet with customers and sales representatives, ensuring consistent customer engagement and driving project success.

Candidates can be located anywhere in the West Region of the US.

Preferred Experience/Skills:

Project management experience.
