WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We are seeking a Regional Medical Director to support medical quality the VEG Way. Delivering high-quality medicine is what we do at VEG! As a Regional Medical Director, you will be part of the Medical Operations team. You will bring a blend of medical strategy, leadership development and emergency veterinary experience to partner with our Market Owners in achieving clinical excellence within their market.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Medical Director Excellence

Provides support in developing medical leaders according to their development plans and succession planning for MD Help facilitate a top-tier candidate experience for potential MDs Trains new medical directors in partnership with MD trainer + MO according to the MD training program Coach medical leaders on principles of VEG Leadership

Medical Quality Assessment and Improvement

Regular review of regional DVM skills and patient safety data Provides guidance on skill/knowledge/safety gap analysis which informs strategic planning Advises to ensure VEGs have safe, efficient, and effective medical operational processes and medical excellence. Finds solutions to improve medical operations across your region &/or all of VEG Provides MD support for medical error management Communication, teaching, and advocacy of best practice medical standards

Medical Programs and Initiatives

Provide strategic guidance on medical program performance, development, and quality control Manage initiatives that support implementation of Medical Training Programs at the hospital/regional levelMaintain a feedback loop with medical training to identify and advocate for prioritizing resource creation to close frontline skills, quality, and patient safety gaps Mentors MDs on how to integrate medical programs into their hospitals

Medical Strategy and Solutions

Responsible for medical quality and excellence within your region.  Owns medical strategic planning to ensure every VEG hospital in your region can deliver full scope of services Innovate by trying new roles, new processes, and new training initiatives in partnership with your pod that fall within the VEG Framework Use data to uncover broad clinical problems across VEGs in the region, then formulate solutions to fix Implement a system within your region to prioritize hospital initiatives and requests

 

WHO YOU ARE

Must be an experienced Emergency Doctor, holding a DVM, VMD or equivalent degree  Leadership experience required with a minimum of two year of medical leadership experience - multi-unit preferred Skilled at stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration Lives in or near the markets in which your hospitals are located Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time to various VEG hospitals when needed, occasionally including weekends and holidays Strong critical thinking and creative problem-solving abilities, as this role is strategic in nature Genuine desire to improve one’s skills and knowledge at all times, eager to both be a teacher and to learn from others Sets aside time to study up-to-date veterinary medical trends to ensure VEG hospitals maintain medical excellence

Pay Range: $300,000 - $350,000 per year Medical, Dental and Vision benefits beginning day 1 of employment! 401K with company match. 10 weeks of parental leave with 100% pay. Unlimited PTO.
