## **About the Role**
Uber Eats is looking to grow its Regional Operations team in the EMEA HQ in Amsterdam. The Operations team plays a critical role in making Uber Eats the preferred delivery platform for merchants, couriers, and customers across our 14 EMEA countries where we operate.
Within Merchant Operations, you will be part of the Merchant Lifecycle team, which focuses on growing our active merchant base across all EMEA markets by providing a best-in-class onboarding experience and ensuring merchants are set up for long-term success on our platform right from the start.
As a Regional Operations Manager in the Merchant Lifecycle team, you will focus on streamlining the merchant onboarding processes, enhancing automation, and implementing improvements to ensure a seamless onboarding experience for merchants. Paying close attention to the merchant requirements to go on our platform, like PSD2 and KYC, you will collaborate with support teams, country ops teams, and product teams to develop efficient and scalable onboarding solutions. Additionally, you will own multiple processes, drive operational improvements, identify pain points, and build cross-functional strategies to enhance merchant success on the platform.
Basic Qualifications
- At least 3+ years of experience in operations, strategy, analytics, management consulting, high-growth startups or other related experience
- A Bachelor or Master’s Degree.
- Experience working with large sets of unstructured data and synthesizing it into business insights – SQL is a strong plus!
- Excellent project management skills with an ability to set up and manage processes and projects from the ground up.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with experience working in diverse, cross-functional and global environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven problem solving skills with an ability to self-serve, investigate and get the data we require in order to structure the challenges we face into concrete action plans. A self-starter attitude is required!
- Balance attention to detail with swift execution - we need to do things quickly, and we need to do them well. Balancing those can be challenging, and this should be a strength.
- Clear communicator - You are a clear and concise communicator with the ability to synthesize a lot of information quickly, highlight the important points, and disseminate actionable insights.
- Creative mindset that understands and enjoys experimental design
- Comfort with ambiguity - You are unfazed by executing on projects where all the information is not always available and priorities can change as more data comes to bear.
What the Candidate Will Do
01. **Develop subject matter expertise in merchant onboarding processes**, including verification steps required for merchants to seamlessly join the platform.
02. **Identify opportunities for process optimization**, automation, and operational improvements to enhance merchant activation and retention.
03. **Support troubleshooting and resolution** of escalated onboarding issues from local markets, ensuring smooth operations across regions.
04. **Leverage data analytics** to generate actionable insights and drive operational efficiencies.
05. **Partner with the Product team** to shape the right set of tools and features that improve the merchant experience and ensure Uber Eats remains competitive.
06. **Champion product rollouts in EMEA**, supporting adoption through reporting, training, and collaboration with Sales and Account Management teams.
07. **Drive regional scalability** by identifying and implementing successful initiatives from individual markets across EMEA.
08. **Collaborate with cross-functional teams** including Product, Engineering, Sales, Account Management, Country Ops and Support to optimize processes, enhance merchant engagement and drive high-impact projects forward..
09. **Voice of EMEA merchants**, influencing Product and Engineering teams to develop features that improve onboarding, reduce friction, and drive merchant success.
10. **Gather merchant insights** through direct interactions, data analysis, and feedback from Sales and Account Management teams to continuously refine processes.
