Regional Process Engineering Manager
The Process Engineer will be responsible for two lime plants in the Kentucky Region, Butler, KY and Maysville KY + Responsible for managing the process capabilities of the rotary lime kilns, crushing and screening systems, Hydrate Operation, Pulverizer, and other material handling systems on site to reduce production costs and improve efficiency, while making quality products and respecting safety and emissions limits. + Responsible for production, operational efficiencies of the kiln process, and oversight of employee capability and productivity in regard to the kiln process. + Ensures kiln process goals are met in a manner that supports the operations and engineering goals and objectives regarding production, efficiency and cost. + Responsible for monitoring, tracking, and continuous improvement of the stone feed system, calcining process, product quality, and accuracy of all inputs to production, stone, fuels, additives, post-production packaging, etc. + Ensures the continuous improvement and optimization of combustion and calcination as well as optimization of resources. + Performs heat and mass balances to optimize the lime making process and identify opportunities for process improvement. + Responsible for ensuring a safe work environment in the execution of all duties and activities. + Ensures compliance with environmental requirements. + Responsible for effective implementation of operating procedures. + Performs root cause analysis to determine most appropriate corrective actions. + Actively engages plant management and hourly workforce to ensure alignment with all plant maintenance and operational departments for execution of the responsibilities of the Process Engineer. + Develops strong interpersonal relationships with all groups within the sites, region, and company to resolve production and process barriers as well as ensuring seamless communication and productivity. **Qualifications** + Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering, Minerals Processing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials and Metallurgical Engineering or related field or equivalent. + 5+ years’ experience in an Engineering role within maintenance or operations. Experience in Root Cause Analysis and troubleshooting. + Industry background in manufacturing related to mining, paper mills, steel plants, refractory, heavy equipment fabrication, stone processing, cement plants, etc. + Lime and/or cement experience is preferred. + Qualified candidates will exhibit a positive and proactive attitude with high initiative and the ability to perform with minimal supervision. + Able and willing to spend the majority of time in the plant with the operators, maintenance personnel, and contractors; and able to communicate production and process plans effectively. + Good technical aptitude and analytical skills. + Detail and process oriented with strong problem resolution abilities. + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Must be able to support a continuous improvement environment as well as support change management initiatives. Experience in dealing with unionized labor force a plus.
