Regional Procurement Leader

Job Summary
The Regional Procurement Leader role will serve as the strategic procurement oversight and subject matter expert for sourcing goods and services needs across GAF site locations. They will report into the newly created Regional Procurement Team Leader role. This will be a highly visible, key role within the Company and will be the face of strategic procurement for site managed Indirect Procurement activities at one or more Operating Sites. Leading and collaborating across site buyers, they ensure proactive business stakeholders' engagement and strategic alignment to business priorities. Working in the center-led procurement team they help drive optimal cost while ensuring safe operations and highest quality, and they help establish streamlined procurement processes across their sites.

The ideal candidate puts the internal customer first, is highly collaborative, and has strong leadership and influencing skills, aligned work experiences and deep process knowledge of procurement (S2P business processes). They will ensure that procurement strategies and programs meet productivity requirements and the needs of the businesses. This role participates in strategic planning of Procurement programs and manages important supplier relationships. Responsibilities include implementing effective strategies, systems, processes, and tools for linkage across the company to enable simplification, standardization, leverage, and compliance. They are process-oriented, proactive with a bias to action in providing effective and streamlined business solutions.

Essential Duties

Lead a team of buyers/site procurement professionals

Develop and execute Procurement strategies in support of business strategies.

Strategic thought partner for Procurement and Business leadership alike

Enable the development and execution of category strategy in alignment with business strategy for specific site requirements, and ensure leveraged needs are fulfilled in alignment with the appropriate Category Manager.

Develop and maintain effective supplier partnerships.

Manage and improve total cost for Indirect materials.

Provide and leverage market and competitive intelligence with other Indirect functions.

Proactively develop and implement effective risk mitigation strategies for key materials.

Collaborate with Procurement Team peers on Procurement strategy, global category strategy, and supplier strategies.

Manage all procurement activities on individual spend greater than $50K and annual spend greater than $250K.

Authoring Contracts with Firm SLA’s/KPI's at site level that enhance Compliance and enable improved performance management.

Enables a Strategic process to leverage key suppliers across sites, and highlight consolidation opportunities to Strategic Category Managers.

Lead supplier risk evaluations to develop risk mitigation plans for key and single sourced items.

Ensure the procurement of required services is in alignment with EHS requirements

Drive consolidation of spend by seeking out and developing synergies of materials and suppliers across the network.

Lead cross functional collaborative efforts to streamline and better enable S2P processes.

In collaboration with Category managers, and departmental teams, develop and maintain strong supplier and vendor relationships. Seek out and develop alternate vendors

In coordination with the legal department and ISC category manager guidance, develop applicable contracts and agreements.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders to select suppliers, negotiate and develop the best value for GAF. This includes coordinating/conducting RFPs and competitive bidding events.

Participate in cross functional team projects involving HQ to ensure value is attained through early involvement.


Qualifications Required

Bachelor’s Degree Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or Related Field

Experience developing, socializing, and executing Strategies with clear goals and priorities.

5+ years of Industrial manufacturing and/or Business Management experience, with 5+ years of procurement experience

2+ years of leading/managing teams

Proven negotiating and contract-authoring experience.

Demonstrated Strategic business and financial acumen.

Business acumen – creating, positioning, negotiating commercial arrangements to deliver competitive advantage.

Project Management experience with strong data analytics experience to provide data driven procurement solutions.

Strategic leadership skills in developing and nurturing strong working ties with site leadership and operations teams.

Strong negotiation skills-Experience managing and negotiating contracts to meet business needs and objectives.

Collaborate closely with manufacturing plant sites to resolve supply issues and implement procurement strategies.

Conduct spends analytics to achieve optimal TCO, reviews market intelligence, evaluates benchmarks and best practices to drive continuous improvement across supplier base.

Supplier Relationship Management.

Negotiate contracts and purchase order terms and conditions with the inclusion of Legal, Risk Management, Business leadership and Finance, as required.

Strong analytical and quantitative skills

Qualifications Preferred

10+ years of Industrial manufacturing and/or Business Management experience, with 7+ years of procurement experience preferred.

Experience within procurement with a proven track record of developing strong relationships with multiple plant locations and cross-functional partners.

Experience with influencing best practice standardization in procurement.

Advanced technical degree and/or an MBA is a plus.

SAP S/4 HANA and Ariba experience is a plus.

Six Sigma and/or Lean certification is a plus.

Annual Salary Range: 103,507-132,259
