This role will be based in our Urbandale office.  We offer a hybrid work schedule with 4 days in the office; and 1 day remote where it makes sense to do so.

Responsibilities

The Regional Rating Manager is responsible for the management of the rating team supporting multiple locations and operating units. The responsibilities include management of staff and resources to produce results which meet or exceed departmental and corporate goals. Drive the organization to strive for continuous process improvement and create a positive atmosphere of a can-do attitude to provide superior service.  Develop the strategic direction for the department and lead or participate in various departmental and corporate initiatives.

We'll count on you to:

Direct management of Rating Supervisor and experienced rating team membersStaff management includes but is not limited to hiring, coaching, training, mentoring, and performance appraisalsManage with the use of team meetings, reports, budgets, etc.Contribute to Regional Operating Unit success by implementing departmental and individual staff goals that tie to corporate goals, measuring results, rewarding achievements or taking corrective action as necessaryResource management, scheduling and distribution of workDevelop and use work management tools to facilitate efficient processes and proceduresSupport other departments by providing technical expertiseWork in conjunction with the Regional Quality Review & Compliance Manager to facilitate team training and technical developmental needsWork in conjunction with the BPO Engagement Owner to facilitate knowledge transfers, monitor KPI performance, and address performance concerns as neededProvide technical support for product development, system enhancements and system bug resolutionMaintain strong working relationships and communication channels with all business partners. Participate in Underwriting meetings and agency meetings when appropriateResponsible for understanding commercial lines rating, coverage’s, products and related processes and workflowsCreate a positive work environment and a culture of continuous process improvement/innovation.Keeps abreast of industry developments, particularly those which impact his or her area(s) of responsibilityUnderstands the business, vision, strategy, guiding principles and other factors that affect Operating Unit successMaintain a strong working knowledge of software applications supporting the Regional Rating Team   Qualifications

What you need to have:

3 to 5 years related experience as follows:3 – 5 years of commercial insurance rating experience in multiple lines of business1 – 3 years of Supervisory and/or Management experienceProficient in insurance software systemsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsExcellent organizational and analytical skillsAbility to lead change with a sense of urgency
