About the Role: The Safety Manager will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and standards, promoting a culture of safety, and implementing data-driven safety programs and campaigns. This role reports directly to the Vice President of Safety and plays a critical role in supporting our commitment to safety compliance across all operations.

Responsibilities:

Evaluate and maintain safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.Develop and maintain comprehensive safety tracking and monitoring systems to ensure ongoing compliance and identify areas for improvement.Utilize data analytics to monitor safety performance metrics and generate detailed reports for senior management.Implement and oversee safety monitoring tools and technologies to enhance real-time safety trackingMonitor and analyze safety performance metrics and prepare detailed reports for senior management.Develop and implement data-driven safety campaigns to promote a culture of safety among employees.Collaborate with other departments to ensure safety standards are integrated into all operational processes.Stay current with industry best practices and regulatory changes to ensure ongoing compliance.Evaluate and integrate new safety technologies and tools to enhance safety monitoring and reporting.Conduct detailed analysis of incident trends to identify patterns and develop targeted interventions.Establish and manage safety recognition programs to reward employees for exemplary safety practices.Act as a liaison with regulatory bodies to ensure compliance and stay updated on new regulations and standards.Implement health and wellness programs that support overall employee well-being, which can contribute to a safer work environment.Conduct safety audits and risk assessments for new projects or initiatives to ensure they meet safety standards from the outset.Measures and monitors compliance with company policies procedures, FTA, FMCSA, DOT,  OSHA/OHS, DHS or other applicable Federal, State, Provincial, Territorial and Client regulations. This will include ensuring the training being conducted meets all Transdev Company Guidelines and is in keeping with best practices.Manages and collects all information and data from locations within the regions necessary to  complete monthly safety reports in accordance with all deadlines. This includes preparing the actual reports. Works to ensure a proper analysis is conducted of each safety event  which results in an injury to an employee, passenger, motorist,  pedestrian etc. or any other serious safety event which may not have included an injury. Identifies safety trends within the regions/locations and using the trend information to  recommend corrective actions.Assists with the Risk Department with management and legal support for injuries and  collisions within the region.

 Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent required  2 years of post High School educationValid CDL 10 Years of Safety/Transportation Experience. Collision Investigation training. 5 Years experience in fleet transportation management. State/Provincial Instructor Certification in at least one of the States/Provincial in the Region.Certified Smith System Defensive Driving Instructor. Expert in Word, Excel and Power Point, Corporate Databases. Must be able to lead behavioral change by motivating others and inspiring them to become safety leaders. Physical Requirements: The essential functions of this position require the ability to: Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions-some of the job may performed outside, work alone and in remote locations.  Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day); frequently walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces Push and pull objects up to 50 pounds, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job; tolerate exposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes and noise
