Rain Bird, a global leader in irrigation solutions, is offering an exceptional opportunity for strategic individual with a track record of success in both sales and business management to join our team as a Regional Sales Manager – Golf. This position will be responsible for expanding Rain Bird’s Golf sales and market share in the UK, Ireland, Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Scandinavia, and Eastern Europe North.

 

Our European Golf sales team is focused on delivering solution-based sales, offering customized irrigation solutions to golf course owners, directors, and managers. You and your team will drive sales efforts by collaborating with golf course architects, irrigation consultants, and contractors, utilizing our extensive distribution network.

 

The role is to be remote, based in the UK and requires frequent travel across Central and Northern Europe of approximately 50% of your time visiting clients and partners, with occasional travel outside the region also required.

Responsibilities Achieve and exceed ambitious sales and market share targets.Provide leadership and development to the Central and Northern Europe golf sales team.Support development of tactical actions and manage execution to align with corporate objectives.Develop the distribution network, with direct management of key distribution partners.Identify business development opportunities and handle key projects directly.Foster long-term relationships with key golf course customers and key industry stakeholders.Monitor and report on sales performance, customer trends, market analysis, pricing dynamics and competition.Collaborate effectively with all sales, service and operations teams to meet objectives. Qualifications Business level proficiency in English, and previous experience reporting and presenting in that language.Undergraduate degree or equivalent with experience managing sales and business units.Eight years sales experience with at least five years of experience in developing distribution channels for project and day to day sales, preferably within the irrigation or golf industry.Proven track record of achieving sales goals and demonstrating strong progressive responsibility.Supervisory experience with a geographically dispersed team and experience developing individuals to higher level positions or responsibilities. Ability to achieve results individually and through team leadership.Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and influencing skills. A strong strategic perspective and an analytical approach to decision making.

Desired Qualifications:

An advanced degree, MBA or similarProficiency in German and or other European languages.Familiarity with Rain Bird’s Golf irrigation products.
