The Regional Sales Manager is a critical front line role responsible for managing the sales and volume growth in specific geographic markets. This role directs, supervises, and evaluates the sales efforts of Foodservice brokers in the assigned Region to achieve annual objectives. The Regional Sales Manager develops and executes sales plans and strategies with each broker and ensures compliance to all required company policies and procedures. Responsibilities Develop and Execute Local sales plans and strategies in coordination with the Marzetti Foodservice Fiscal Year objectives. Manage, train, and hire Foodservice Brokers for open positions; meet at least quarterly to work in the market with each assigned broker. Deliver sales presentations with the broker to customers in orders to ensure each broker meets their sales, volume, and distribution goals. Own direct relationships with key decision makers at Regional Chains, Key Operators, and Distributors Partners. Create and maintain a positive environment consistent with Marzetti Foodservice’s “The Better Way” that motivates Broker partners to drive sales of Marzetti Foodservice products in the marketplace. Establish travel cadence in orders to maintain high visibility in all markets, to ensure positive representation, , focus on Marzetti Foodservice’s “The Better Way” Conduct regular business reviews and one annual major broker review. Complete all company-required administrative work in a timely and accurate manner, including Trade Spend requests, itineraries, expense reports, market worksheets and follow-up market letters. Introduce new items with a broker meeting and a headquarter call. Provide product training and orientation for foodservice brokers within the region. Plan, execute and evaluate all major promotions on all brands. Manage and clear customer deductions. Supervisory Responsibility: Supervises brokers/distributors. May directly supervise market sales managers who in turn supervise a direct sales force. Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, goal-setting, scheduling, appraising and terminating employees; planning, assigning and directing work; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints/issues and resolving problems. Qualifications BA/BS degree. 4-5 years prior experience in foodservice sales/marketing with broker sales management experience.
