In this high-impact role, you’ll combine field engagement with strategic planning, targeting both new and existing accounts to deliver accelerated growth. This position is part of the NA Sales Department and will be **remote** , covering the territories of Eastern Iowa and Northwestern Illinois. **In this role** **,** **a typical day will look like:** + Working collaboratively with assigned sales resources to develop monthly sales territory and account plans to achieve assigned targets. + Executing planned activities and documents in Hach CRM, Salesforce.com (SFDC). + Managing all opportunities utilizing SFDC and following standard sales process steps. + Preparing and presenting a monthly funnel review and monthly forecast utilizing SFDC to demonstrate the quality of the funnel, activity plans, and command of the account base, as well as managing opportunity dates, dollar value, and probabilities. + Establishing and maintaining relationships with engineering firms and other accounts that indirectly influence the buying decisions of the customer + Developing a network of customer and industry contacts in the territory to position Hach as a key member of the water management community + Active participation in the identification, qualification and targeting of high-value prospect organizations through external networking and internal relationship building + Collecting and reporting information on all competitive activity, business opportunities, sales trends and results within the assigned market providing input during monthly business review + Participating in sales activities including: customer site visits, telephone contacts, trade seminars and shows, product demonstrations/evaluations, customer seminars and channel management. + Acting as a mentor for the growth and development of other RSMs by sharing best practices + Traveling weekly for up to 75% of the time, to visit clients and customers in-person. **The essential requirements of the job include:** + BA, BS or MS degree is required. A degree in a science-related field (e.g., Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, Engineering) is an asset. + Minimum 5 years of direct sales experience, ideally in analytical instrumentation or a related technical field. + Demonstrated success managing a sales territory and exceeding sales quotas. + Experience using CRM platforms, preferably Salesforce.com, for pipeline and forecast management. + Ability to travel up to 75% weekly within the assigned territory. + Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. **It would be nice if you also possess:** + Strong organizational skills and ability to manage a high volume of customer interactions independently. + Experience selling into municipal markets + Formal training in consultative or value-based sales methodologies (e.g., Sandler, Question-Based Selling). + Experience is one or more of Hach’s vertical markets: Wastewater, Drinking Water, etc. + A collaborative mindset and the ability to work cross-functionally across sales, operations, and customer support. + An entrepreneurial spirit and a self-starter attitude, with ownership over your territory as a business. + Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to tailor messages to technical and non-technical audiences. An associate’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs. The compensation range for this role is $90,000 - $100,000 USD per year. This job is also eligible for Bonus Pay.
