Regional Senior Operations Manager

As the Regional Senior Operations Manager for 2 of IDEXX's US Veterinary reference labs, you will be overseeing the direct management and day to day operations of two of our larger North American laboratories. In this role…

You will serve as the Regional Operations and People leader for IDEXX's Elmhurst, IL (Chicago) and our Glen Burnie, MD (Baltimore) Labs. Your daily goals will be to drive culture, productivity, innovation, engagement and more across these critical parts of our North American Reference Lab Network.You will manage the overall business goals and results of these laboratory locations. You will have overall responsibility for achieving revenue and profitability goals.You will manage leadership staff for both locations, establishing performance metrics, monitoring activities, and evaluating performance.You will lead the development of laboratory budget, policies, and procedures.You will develop and implement strategies to increase efficiency, maintain quality and ensure continuous improvement of policies, systems, and procedures. 

What do you need to succeed?

You will have in-depth (10+ years) experience overseeing or managing a large, fast-paced, high-volume work environment across multiple shifts.The position is a virtual role, but the successful candidate will have the ability to commute to our Elmhurst, IL lab as needed.A bachelor’s degree in a related field (business or science) preferred.You’re an experienced change agent, preferably with Lean Six Sigma experience, and you have applied/implemented this experience in a Lean manufacturing/operations environmentYou have proven successful track record of managing large (100-200+) teams, across 2 or more locations, with a focus on employee performance, empowerment, and skills development.You can adapt departmental plans and priorities to address resource and the operational challenges of a global company.You excel at organizing, prioritizing and directing work activities.You have a track record of successful project management skills and abilities.You have strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with an ability to effectively present information to various audiences including senior management and those who report to you.You are proficient in the use of Excel, Word and other PC applications and are comfortable with high computer use.
