Regional Technical Manager

What you will do

Volvo Group Australia manages the manufacturing, distribution and operation of well-known brands such as Volvo Trucks, Mack Trucks, UD Trucks, Volvo Bus, Volvo Penta, Volvo Construction Equipment and Volvo Financial Services. 


VGA is seeking a skilled Regional Technical Manager to join our commercial team and provide expert technical support across our truck brands—Mack, Volvo, and UD - covering the Melbourne and Victoria region. In this pivotal role, you will lead efforts to drive continuous improvement, manage escalations, and ensure timely, efficient technical resolutions for our dealers and customers. Your goal will be to enhance customer satisfaction and uphold our uptime promise.


Key responsibilities include:


• Manage customer and dealer service support as well as breakdown functions within the designated Area of Responsibility .
• Build strong relationships with customers and dealers, conducting regular visits to understand needs and provide feedback on dealer network performance.
• Work closely with the Product Support and Service Market Development teams to enhance dealer operations and support service procedures.
• Oversee technical and commercial goodwill, managing warranty claims, service agreements, and resolving customer conflicts.
• Develop action plans based on customer feedback and support dealers with warranty matters and service operations.

Trade qualification in automotive or mechanical engineering. Proven track record in technical support or a similar role within the automotive or heavy vehicle industry. Strong business sense with the ability to make strategic decisions, balancing technical and commercial goals. Success in leading cross-functional teams in technical support, engineering, or operations. Skilled in developing service solutions, resolving complex issues, and managing customer conflicts. A customer-centric mindset, with a focus on fostering strong relationships. What’s in it for you?
