Job Description
This position offers remote work flexibility, allowing candidates to work from any location within the United States.
The National OTC Executive is responsible for the sales and distribution of AbbVie’s Over The Counter (OTC) product portfolio within assigned retail, government , direct-to-physician and e-commerce customers. This position collaborates closely with the Consumer Eye Care marketing team to implement marketing and sales plans within assigned customers as well as to train and manage broker personnel in assigned territory. He or she will identify and implement customer specific promotional initiatives, drive incremental sales with a focus on return on investment. The National OTC Executive incorporates professional selling and negotiating skills, coupled with knowledge of AbbVie and competitive OTC products, OTC category sales, merchandising, distribution and channel inventory management to influence decision makers to increase the depth and distribution of AbbVie OTC product line. Additionally, the National OTC Executive models the Commercial Eye Care cultural Vision, key leadership competencies and the broader AbbVie Ways We Work.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Grow and maintain AbbVie OTC distribution within retail and ecommerce customers to drive sales of AbbVie OTC product line. Includes collaboration with Consumer Eye Care marketing for annual plan-o-gram reviews, gaining distribution for new product launches, recommending and execution desired product merchandising flow at retail shelf.
+ Lead all selling and negotiation efforts with assigned customers. National OTC Executive will be responsible for managing a territory sales target.
+ Recommends and manages performance funding budget to selectively promote, implement customer specific marketing programs and grow the business at assigned national/regional customers. Includes review, approval, tracking and evaluating promotional performance.
+ Keep current with industry, customer and competitive landscape and understand how information will impact customer and brand strategies and product availability.
+ Manage and develop monthly sales forecasts for existing distribution base, new item and promotional business.
+ Manage and create partnership with existing broker network.
+ Serve as a resource for market growth opportunities, proposals and programs.
+ Assume a lead role in customer business development, contract negotiations, presentations, and sales calls.
Product Value Proposition:
+ Utilize product value propositions and other resources to optimize distribution, assortment and presence for patient access for AbbVie OTC products.
+ Identify and effectively utilize appropriate inter-franchise support.
+ Conduct thorough competitive analyses.
+ Develop and lead the execution of a variety of customized sales strategies.
+ Advise AbbVie leadership on contract terms to ensure appropriate direction on challenges and opportunities.
Relationship Building and Business Development:
+ Cultivate contacts and relationships with key stakeholders representing a broad range of functions and management levels, both internal and external.
+ Support activities of strategic alliance partners within targeted accounts as applicable.
+ Provide guidance and assistance relative to company-wide and franchise-specific opportunities within targeted customers.
Effective Communication:
+ National OTC Executive will be responsible to provide timely and accurate dissemination of information (verbal and written) of customer-specific issues that impact AbbVie business.
+ Broker Account Management:
+ Provide strategic and tactical direction regarding assigned customers.
+ Conduct regular intra- and inter-franchise interaction to provide insight regarding market factors that influence AbbVie business opportunities and develop strategies to optimize business opportunities.
+ Communicate to appropriate AbbVie executive management novel and creative approaches to maximizing business opportunities.
+ Inter-Franchise Teams:
+ Give clear direction and identify priorities regarding customer impact on OTC decisions.
+ Assist in the development of product launch plans including packaging, pricing policies and product distribution.
+ Evaluate emerging markets and identify potential AbbVie business opportunities.
+ Coordinate cross collaborations by offering strategic and tactical direction on contracting, program implementation, product positioning, and key organizational contacts across all franchises.
Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s Degree required; 5+ years consumer goods sales required preferable in Health/Wellness category; Master’s Degree preferred
+ Excellent business planning, organizational/project management skills with previous business management/development experience
+ Demonstrated success in managing to a sales target, developing business opportunities, identifying customer needs and changes in their markets.
+ In-depth working knowledge of fact-based selling, category management, consumer goods, and sales & marketing
+ Skilled at data analysis using syndicated data (IRI) and/or other technology resources to perform analysis and recommend strategies.
+ Travel requirement: 50%

Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
