Primary Responsibilities
Inbound Logistics OptimizationManage regional transportation operations to ensure efficient inbound shipment flows.Monitor and optimize trailer pool compliance, yard management, and detention/demurrage costs.Oversee live load/unload efficiencies across assigned facilities.Carrier and Vendor ManagementCollaborate with suppliers and carriers to address compliance issues and improve service reliability.Support procurement negotiations to secure cost-effective and reliable carrier agreements.Monitor vendor performance using KPIs and address issues proactively.Data Analysis and KPI ReportingTrack and report transportation KPIs such as detention costs, on-time delivery rates, and yard utilization.Analyze operational data to identify trends and recommend improvements.Use tools like SAP, TMS, and YMS to maintain shipment visibility and ensure operational consistency.Standardization and Process ImprovementImplement standardized processes for yard and trailer management across the region.Lead initiatives to improve live load/unload and yard safety practices in collaboration with safety teams.Develop training materials and provide coaching to ensure adherence to regional transportation standards.Collaboration and Stakeholder EngagementWork closely with site operations, warehouse teams, and other departments to align transportation strategies with broader business goals.Partner with customer service and quality teams to resolve OS&D claims related to transportation.Regulatory ComplianceEnsure adherence to federal, state, and local transportation regulations and internal company policies.Maintain safety protocols and address regulatory gaps proactively. QualificationsQualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field.Experience:5-7 years of experience in transportation or logistics management.Proven track record of managing carrier relationships and optimizing transportation processes.Technical Skills:Proficiency in logistics systems, including SAP, TMS, and YMS.Advanced data analysis skills using Excel, Tableau, or other reporting tools.Soft Skills: Strong communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.Preferred: Experience in live load/unload operations and yard management optimization.Core Competencies
