The Regional Vice President (RVP), Extended Stay Franchise Performance is a key leadership role responsible for enabling and influencing property performance and profitability through strategic business reviews, revenue generation support, operations initiatives, and brand activation compliance. The RVP, Extended Stay Franchise Performance will continually ensure an Extended Stay operational support culture that drives continuous product and guest satisfaction improvement and action planning within their teams assigned portfolios to maximize hotel results and ramp, achieve quality and service levels against established goals and brand expectations. They will directly and proactively engage owners, management companies, designated franchisee representatives, on-site management, and internal Choice stakeholders to capitalize on segment performance opportunities and proactively identify and address retention risks. Additionally, they will create and manage processes to drive accountability through their team accounting for the nuances between account types and experience levels within brands. Success metrics will be measured by top line and extended stay specific performance gains (RPI, ESOcc, Avg. LOS), enhanced guest satisfaction scores (LTR), improved product quality and increased brand compliance (QA) across the four extended stay brands. This role will ensure talent is assigned to proactively maximize the benefit of support and results while ensuring any underperformance or lack of support is swiftly addressed.

Responsibilities and Duties
Extended Stay Franchise Performance Management
Conduct property visits with leaders and team throughout the year to assess effectiveness of engagement and ability to drive results as measured by individual financial performance, guest experience, associate engagement, service execution and hotel compliance.Leverage CHH performance reporting systems including financial reports, guest satisfaction and STR performance to optimize action planning and continuous improvement.Identify Best Practices to leverage across the Brand portfolio for all four extended stay brands and ensure socialization through established operational and brand advisory meetings.Establish a Portfolio Review Process for Management Company and Owner Operators to ensure performance alignment and accountability.Provide monthly updates to the Brand Leadership team on portfolio performance (current and forward-looking trends) including a high-level summary of strategy and tactics to drive improvements vs established targets.Cultivate franchisee relationships focusing on owner engagement, retention strategies and management company effectiveness.Review and recommend Compliance strategy and escalation.Identify and proactively communicate potential portfolio retention risks.Demonstrate and ensure team member knowledge and expertise with all proprietary systems and industry related support technologies.Remain currently informed of all Brand programs, franchise requirements, operating practices, market trends, and industry conditions to provide necessary information and support to franchisees.Ensure Key Leadership Certification compliance, training, educational programs, and resources. Engage franchisees to support training opportunities that address their needs coordinating with Choice and Extended Stay training resources as necessary.Operationalization and Execution
Active involvement and leadership in formal franchisee touchpoints to include CHH annual convention, ES franchisee advisory councils, and relevant subcommittees.Establish processes to drive effective partnership with extended stay global sales, revenue management, and development teams.Collaborate with relevant ES brand management and activation team members to drive compliance with programs and resources.Ensure effectiveness of pre-opening process to ensure successful handover and accelerated ramp up through coordination with Design & Construction and Opening Services.Leverage resources within the broader Choice organization to identify new opportunities that drive incremental revenue, enhance Guest Satisfaction, increase operating efficiency, and expense containment at the hotel level. Support franchisee communication planning and execution.Understand and successfully integrate Choice’s cultural values and performance principles into all facets of franchisee, peer, and internal stakeholder interaction as company ambassadors to franchisees and management companies.Collaborative Leadership and Accountability

Leads and effectively communicates corporate priorities, strategic change initiatives and organizational impacts.Develops and maintains departmental budgets as directed and within company policy.Provide timely and accurate documentation of all business expenses through an online expense reporting system. Manage business expense decisions, corporate credit card usage, and overall expense management within assigned budgetary guidelines.Builds the talent pipeline through internal and external networking.Leads and holds staff accountable for the achievement of department goals as well as operational excellence.Sets reasonable stretch performance goals, provides constructive, balanced, regular performance feedback, and collaborates with associates to help build and support their individual career development plans.Drives associate engagement including recognizing and rewarding performance excellence.Manages the hiring process, conducts interviews, and ensures the successful onboarding of new associates.Foster a collaborative and supportive working environment by effectively coordinating with cross-functional teams, including marketing, finance, operations, and human resources.Actively participate in leadership meetings and strategic planning sessions, providing valuable insights and recommendations to drive the growth and success of the upscale franchise portfolio.Work Location
As our Regional Vice President (RVP), Extended Stay Franchise Performance you will be a remote-based associate, working from your home office. You will be required to connect virtually with Choice team members and leadership on video via Zoom, with possible periodic travel in-person to our beautiful, state-of-the-art worldwide offices in Rockville, MD, Scottsdale, AZ, or St. Louis Park, MN. Frequent nationwide travel will be required 50% of the time to represent Choice Hotels at franchise-related events, trade shows, conventions, and franchisee visits, etc.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university in Hotel Management, Business Management, Marketing, or a relevant field of study required.Minimum of 12 years' progressive experience in a senior leadership role within the hospitality industry, with a focus on franchise performance. Economy and/or Midscale Extended Stay experience strongly preferred.Minimum of 5 years' leadership experience, including setting strategic direction and influencing management/professional levels of matrixed organization for engagement and brand(s) growth.Strong understanding of franchise business models, operations, and performance metrics.Strong track record of success in driving execution and delivering business results through remote based team.Motivated self-starter that is highly results oriented.Excellent leadership skills with a proven ability to develop relationships with associates at all levels of the organization and drives results in a team-oriented environment.Excellent business-savvy with a consultative approach and holistic business view; ability to influence and collaborate with leaders across organizational lines.Excellent ability to manage ambiguity combined with an ability to leverage data and create a foundation of data-supported decision making.Excellent analytical and forecasting skills; previous experience with successful budget management.Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate across all stakeholder groups including small and large group settings, both internal and external.Flexibility in creating and making changes or re-directing initiatives to continuously improve strategy and organization, showing comfort with change management, and working in a matrix-based organization.Advanced use of Microsoft suite including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Extensive travel (~50%) is required to visit franchise locations and attend meetings.Salary Range
The salary range for this position is $185,000 to $220,000 annually. In addition to the annual salary, this role is eligible for an annual bonus based on the terms of Choice's Management Incentive Plan (MIP), as well annual awards of Choice Hotels International common stock through Choice’s Long-Term Incentive Plan (LTI Plan).
The pay range listed is for this position and is what Choice Hotels reasonably expects to pay. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the pay range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs.
