Regional Vice President - Sales

Job Purpose:

Our Regional Vice President of Sales will be responsible for driving profitable revenue generation, mitigating financial risk, and managing inventory assets efficiently to balance customer/market needs and the company’s working capital objectives within the assigned region. This position will manage several regional sales teams and drive effective execution in areas including customer support Marketing, Procurement, Credit, and Sales support strategies and is accountable for developing market-by-market plans to achieve growth goals for Packaging and Facility Solutions. They need to understand expense levers and ratios to drive profitable revenue across the region through the sales team.

Job Responsibilities:

● Develop the regional strategy for Packaging and FS, anticipating complex issues, challenges, and opportunities. Ensure the strategy is successfully implemented and meets medium-term business needs.
● Manage strategic client and customer relationships, typically by deploying large account teams to ensure ongoing customer intimacy and loyalty toward the organization.
● Lead engagement with key strategic customers within assigned regions, including leading major strategic bids and initiatives on working capital, A/R, and CDI.
● Collaborate with a cross-functional internal team (for example, operations, sourcing, and marketing) to configure complex, high-value tailored or bespoke product and services solutions and associated contractual terms that meet the customer's strategic goals. Present the solution to customer representatives and negotiate agreements with the customer and internal colleagues to ensure customer needs are met within acceptable commercial and risk parameters.
● Lead Veritiv's go-to-market strategy for multiple sales managers. Communicate corporate strategy and its relationship to the organization's mission, vision, and values; clarify the actions needed to implement it within the assigned region; motivate people to commit to these and do extraordinary things to achieve the organization's business goals.
● Take responsibility for setting and managing area budgets and metrics to align with organizational strategy, including regional-specific results: • Revenue, Adjusted Gross Profit. • Sales Headcount and Selling Expense (includes commissions and T&E). • Inventory, D&E, DSO.
● Identify the capabilities needed to meet a significant business area's current and emerging business needs. Evaluate current capabilities, identify gaps, and prioritize development activities. Motivate others to develop their capabilities and fulfill their personal potential. Build capabilities elsewhere in the organization through mentoring and other informal methods.

Additional Responsibilities & Qualifications:

● Experience level enables job holder to provide leadership to others regarding work-related systems, processes and challenges
● Experience in interpreting strategy and policy to set and deliver objectives within medium to long time frames

Work Experience:

● 15+ years of related experience of successful supervisory/management experience required to motivate and develop direct reports, as well as size up new talent.● Excellent verbal, written, people, and diplomacy skills are required.● Experienced in strategic management and leadership across company functions directing substantial resources over long time frames.

Education:

● Bachelor's Degree Preferred

Physical Requirements:
● A significant portion of the job responsibilities will require computer work that involves the continuous use of the fingers, hands, wrists, and sitting for long periods of time. 
● The position also requires frequent lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds.
● The position requires work in an office as well as travel to customers, suppliers, group meetings, etc.
