Job DescriptionPerforms high quality cardiac ultrasound, spectral, color, and tissue doppler exams, stress echoes, pharmacologic stress echoes and TEE's. Operates mobile equipment throughout the hospital. All tests performed are reviewed and reported by a staff cardiologist.
High school diploma or the equivalent, basic CPR Must be registered and maintain active registry status through ARDMS standards. RDCS – Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer or RCS through CCI –Cardiovascular Credentialing International
Must possess active BLS certification and maintain current status to remain assigned to position
Able to independently perform echoes, pharmacologic stress echoes and TEE’s
Considerable knowledge of human anatomy and physiology in relation to the cardiovascular system required
Good verbal communication skills required to explain procedures to patients and exchange information with co-workers and staff. Written communication skills required to document procedures
Must have knowledge of the human development process and ability to work effectively with patients of all ages
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and able to lift and position all patients safely
Must maintain CPR certification for continued employment
PreferredThree Years cardiac ultrasound experience
