Registered Cardiac Sonographer (Temporary/Part-Time)
Overview Responsible for the diagnostic cardiac or vascular ultrasound that results in providing the cardiologist with measurements and accurate images of cardiac structures for the provider to provide an accurate diagnosis. Operates ultrasound equipment that collects reflected echoes and Doppler signals from images and spectral tracings of the heart. Qualifications EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT Associate’s degree from a 2-year college or technical school; or two (2) years (60 credit hours) coursework from a 4-year college or university; or three (3) years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; or a graduate from an accredited program. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT No additional experience required. COMPUTER SKILLS An individual should know Database software, Internet software, Manufacturing software, Order processing software, Spreadsheet software, and Word Processing software. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Must possess Basic Life Support (BLS) and maintain throughout employment. Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or registry eligible from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) and must obtain registration within twelve (12) months of hire; or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI). Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) preferred but not required. Must possess a valid driver’s license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating. OTHER QUALIFICATIONS The employee must not be and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG's Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA's List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE). Ability to effectively communicate with patients, providers, family members, and co-workers in a manner consistent with a customer service focus and application of positive language principles. Effective interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills. Ability to organize and prioritize work effectively and efficiently. Ability to work independently. Ability to utilize critical thinking skills. Ability to serve in an on-call rotation after regular business hours if needed. Must meet and maintain periodic background investigation and adjudication for child care. PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee may occasionally be required to climb or balance. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to correct/adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT While performing the duties of this job, the employee may regularly be exposed to work near moving mechanical parts; work in high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles, and vibration. The employee may frequently be exposed to the risk of electrical shock. The employee may occasionally be exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold (non-weather), extreme heat (non-weather), and the risk of radiation. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
