Registered Dietician - per diem - Varied hours
The starting rate for this position is: $26.19 Rate of pay displayed reflects the beginning of the pay scale. At the time of an offer, determination of your offer will reflect your skills and experience as it relates to the position. Per diem employees also get an extra $1 per hour! Registered Dietitian Summary To assess, diagnose and treat nutrition related problems followed with appropriate nutritional recommendations which include translating scientific information about nutrition into practical advice to help patients make health-conscious decisions about nutrition to improve their outcome. Essential Duties and Responsibilities + Supports and promotes the mission and values of Covenant Health Ministry. + Screens patients to determine level of nutritional care needed + Assesses the nutritional status and needs of nutritionally at-risk patients and develops a nutrition care plan. Implements plan and oversees follow-through by kitchen and nursing staff. + Documents appropriately in the electronic medical record. + Provides nutrition information/education to inpatients and their families, as needed. + Develops, prepares, and teaches group classes to patients and their families, staff, and the general public, as required. + Professionally interacts with all staff members to optimize patient care. + Uses professional verbal and writing skills in communication. + Utilizes computer to clock in/out, and input patient information as necessary. + Attends and participates in various meetings, as required. + Provides in-service training to staff, as required. + Participates in quality assurance/performance improvement monitoring. + Willing to perform other miscellaneous nutrition office duties as required. + Performs similar or related duties as assigned or directed by the Clinical Nutrition Manager and/or General Manager. + Maintains current registration with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and maintains a New Hampshire state license to practice. + Every St. Joseph Hospital employee is required to abide by the Standards of Conduct and to report any activity that appears to violate the Standards of Conduct. + Other duties as consistent with this role. Job Requirements Job Knowledge and Skills + Minimum of one-year clinical experience preferred + Work weekends and holidays as scheduled Education and Experience + Current NH Registered, Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist required + Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition/Dietetics strongly preferred + Master’s degree in Nutrition/Dietetics preferred + Completion of qualifying experience, Dietetic Internship preferred An equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed above may be substituted for the above education and experience requirements. Working Conditions/Physical Demands Must possess the physical and mental abilities to perform the tasks normally associated with this position that involves a combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching. Occasional lifting/carrying of audiovisual equipment up to 25 lbs. Some stress related to high level of responsibility for quality care.
