Registered Dietitian

Summary:

The registered dietician is responsible for providing nutritional care to clients through assessment of nutritional status, identifying of specific nutrition problem, implementing appropriate nutrition interventions, and monitoring outcomes in accordance with established policies and standards of care. The registered dietician collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to ensure quality of care and acts as a liaison between clients and the dining services department.

Shift:

Monday - Friday

8:00am - 4:00pm with flexibility - Remote position - Salaried

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Communicates and promotes Pyramid Healthcare’s core values and mission.  Conducts nutritional screenings, assesses nutritional status of clients, responds to consultations, makes appropriate recommendations, and provides nutrition education and counseling in a timely manner.  Evaluates and interprets the nutritional status and nutritional needs of clients using established standards of care and practice guidelines. Develops nutritional plans and recommendations based on individual’s needs, goals, and health history. Collaborates with facility staff to coordinate nutrition consultation sessions in a productive and efficient manner. Coordinates and communicates all client dietary and nutrition care needs with the multidisciplinary team, at all facilities designated. Attends all pertinent meetings, as instructed by management, that impact client care. Counsel individuals and groups on overall good nutrition, healthy eating habits and nutrition management of diseases to improve their quality of life. Monitors clients’ nutritional status and response to the nutrition interventions and makes changes as necessary to meet client needs. Completes required documentation in the EMR system, as well as all other platforms as indicated, in a timely fashion. Collaborates with the dining services department to ensure clients nutrition needs are met, including diet modification and meal planning. Develops, reviews, updates and implements nutrition educational materials. Provides nutrition expertise and education to dining services and facility staff. Assists with conducting kitchen and dining room audits and communicates findings as requested. Maintains established clinical metrics for productivity, client satisfaction and quality of care. Actively participates in the development, review, and revision of continuous quality improvement programs. Complies with all regulatory standards to include federal, state, and accrediting agencies while adhering to facility confidentiality, HIPPA regulations, and patient rights policies. Stays up-to-date on new standards of care, licensure requirements, and completes and seeks out opportunities for career development. Other duties as

 

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred from an accredited college or university with a major in Nutrition and Dietetics. Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) OR Registered Dietitian (RD) OR eligible and must obtain either RDN or RD within six (6) months of hire. Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist (LDN) OR eligible and must obtain within nine (9) months of hire. Experience in a healthcare setting preferred. Experience working with Substance Abuse/Behavioral Health clients preferred. Valid driver’s license required with the ability to travel in assigned region as necessary. 

 

Additional Desirable Skills

Skills within the areas listed below are desired, but not a requirement.

Experience working with demographics presenting with a history of substance use disorder. Experience with those who have undergone bariatric surgery or within the parameters of weight management. Experience with the treatment of disordered eating or eating disorders.
