The Veterans Canteen Service (VCS) is currently seeking a Registered Dietitian for our Lake Nona, FL Canteen located at the VA Medical Center, 12000 Veterans Way, Orlando, FL 32827. VCS is a non-appropriated self-sustaining retail activity that operates as an exclusive independent entity within VHA at over 200 locations. Major duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: + Direct Patient Feeding for the VA Medical Center to include menu planning, coordinating special dietary requirements, special catering and other food production services + Develop and maintain client and customer relationships + Ensure safe food quality, safe food handling, and product availability + Inventory control, labor cost, and budget management + Ensure day-to-day compliance to JCAHO, VA, VCS and HACCP guidelines relative to food production operations + Supervise assigned personnel rendering guidance, oversight and training + Reports to General Manager VCS offers competitive benefits, including: + Child Care Subsidy Program + Public Transportation Benefits (Bus Pass) + Annual Cost of Living Pay Increases + Major Medical, Dental, Vision Insurance & Life Insurance + Vacation & Sick Leave to include 11 (paid) Federal Holidays + Company Contribution to Retirement Savings Plan + Visit us at https://www.vacanteen.va.gov/ for more information about the Veterans Canteen Service Required Minimum Qualifications: + Must currently be a Registered Dietitian and be able to provide documentation. + Minimum 1-year prior experience in patient feeding in an in-patient setting + Hands-on leadership with a strong focus on service and hospitality + Proficient computer skills using Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, etc.) + ServSafe certification required or obtained within 90 days of hire date + Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and some nights. Participation in the seasonal influenza and Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) Vaccination programs are requirements for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP). Participation in the seasonal influenza program is a condition of employment. It is a requirement that all HCP receive the COVID-19 vaccination and annual seasonal influenza vaccination or obtain an exemption for medical or religious reasons.
