The Veterans Canteen Service (VCS) is currently seeking a Registered Dietitian for our Lake Nona, FL Canteen located at the VA Medical Center, 12000 Veterans Way, Orlando, FL 32827.
VCS is a non-appropriated self-sustaining retail activity that operates as an exclusive independent entity within VHA at over 200 locations.
Major duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
+ Direct Patient Feeding for the VA Medical Center to include menu planning, coordinating special dietary requirements, special catering and other food production services
+ Develop and maintain client and customer relationships
+ Ensure safe food quality, safe food handling, and product availability
+ Inventory control, labor cost, and budget management
+ Ensure day-to-day compliance to JCAHO, VA, VCS and HACCP guidelines relative to food production operations
+ Supervise assigned personnel rendering guidance, oversight and training
+ Reports to General Manager

Required Minimum Qualifications:
+ Must currently be a Registered Dietitian and be able to provide documentation.
+ Minimum 1-year prior experience in patient feeding in an in-patient setting
+ Hands-on leadership with a strong focus on service and hospitality
+ Proficient computer skills using Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, etc.)
+ ServSafe certification required or obtained within 90 days of hire date
+ Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and some nights.
Participation in the seasonal influenza and Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) Vaccination programs are requirements for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP). Participation in the seasonal influenza program is a condition of employment.
